Did I say the win sucked? I'm sure they will have practice, but so what? Is Groce wrong for saying they played terribly in the first half, and they have a lot to work on? To be clear, I was not criticizing the players for the slow down at the end. It was very clear that it was a deliberate choice to slow down and hold the ball. I disagree with that choice. I also believe that Groce and his staff know way more about the game of basketball than I do. I just made a comment on a message board. Trust me, I understand that I am fortunate to be a fan a very high-quality Mid-major basketball team. That doesn't mean that I don't want to see them perform to their best throughout a game.

I really don't like how Akron started wasting time and barely running an offense with more than 5 minutes left. With how poor of a first half we had, I feel like we could have used the extra time to keep up momentum.

Zips very sloppy on both ends.

Struggling to stay in front of their guards early. Both made threes were because somebody had to help and left them open.

Just can't buy a shot this half. They've had some really good ones too.

This is absurd. How has UMASS not had anyone foul out? We are at the line every time we go down the floor. Somehow these refs are effectively screwing both teams.

Zips halfcourt offense starting to get really stagnant. Not moving nearly as much as they were early.

I'm pretty sure that he was supposed to cut to the basket on that last pass. You could see him acknowledge it to Evan as they walked off the court. Just basic miscommunication, but at least 50% his fault.

You'd think after the first 5 passes are easily stolen in about 10 minutes, the Zips would start paying attention, but I guess not.

Looks like he might have taken Tavari's so far.

Miami down 4 at the half against UMASS

This game is going to fall squarely on Lyle's shoulders. He is going to have to have a monster of a game on the defensive end. I think Marvin and Evan are going to struggle guarding Gillespie/Whaley, they just don't have the size to keep up, and I am assuming that even if Chabi plays, it will be very limited minutes after so much time off. It is totally possible that we struggle to rebound and give up tons of easy points, but I also think it is going to be hard for Kent to stop our offense as well.

Zips starting to flow on offense. Time to really step it up for a few minutes and get a real lead.

I still haven't seen a full game from him, but from the bits and pieces I have seen, Blydon for Toledo is one of the best true freshmen that I have seen in the MAC for quite a while. He is definitely showing up so far tonight too.

I don't disagree with anything that you said. I fully believe Akron is the better team. There are teams with terrible schedules every single season. It is rare for those teams to have a 30 win season. Bad opponents or not, it is impressive to be able to go out every night and take care of business. Even the best Akron teams have one or two headscratchers every season. Once again, I still do not believe that Miami will win 30 games, but if they do I think they can pull an at large bid.

If Miami wins 30 games and loses in the conference championship, I think they get an at large. It's really hard to justify not letting a 30 win team in and Miami has been able to get enough media attention to drive a push to a bid. I still dont think they will win 30 games, but they are getting closer every day so who knows.

Other than being unconscious from 3 early, the Zips have not looked great on offense tonight. I feel like there has been a lot of miscommunication and weird turnovers that you usually don't see.
