  1. Charlie!!! I know Getsy probably wouldn't be interested anymore, I'm still bummed he didn't get it 2 years ago.
  2. The Kwan Cheatham Special
  3. Those two 3s by Wynn were big in the first half when others couldn't find their touch. A couple contributions like that per game would be HUGE!
  4. That's the Groce basketball I like to see!! Statement game!
  5. Just can't quite pull away ?
  6. The ROI on Trimble has been beautiful to see, he's so relaxed and smooth
  7. I'm surprised by the lack of quick-trigger threes by LCJ tonight
  8. Tribble has a green light all of a sudden
  9. I think that successful post move and score by Reece was the first I've seen since Big Dog
  10. Wash rinse repeat, and just like that it's a 3-point game and BG ball coming out of the timeout.
  11. This team makes me want to pull my hair out sometimes. Lotta ball left tonight and it's gonna be a battle.
  12. I totally get what you're saying and I agree with you. But I rarely see players as obsessed with their head coach on social media as he was during the recruiting process. And he was a pretty well-recruited player out of high school. It's probably a non story, but it's simply odd to me that someone can be sold so hard and buy in with everything just for this to be the result. I appreciate the thoughtful response!
  13. Unfortunately despite the incredible performance Saturday, Dailey is trending toward being a disappointment to me. He looks so deep into his own head and plays stiff when he's clearly able to be a really good slashing G/F. It's cringe-inducing sometimes because we can all see the potential.
  14. A Tribble 3 attempt early in the clock is....surprising haha
  15. The bastards came back and won as soon as I turned it on
  16. That Childs one bothers me. Quite a bit.
  17. Correct. X wore #20 last year, a bunch of guys have worn #12, Ali is wearing #24. None of those numbers seem to be retired.
  18. Garvin Clarke MVP!!! But seriously, how fun would the JAR have been today?!?!?!?!?! That was an incredible basketball game, talent everywhere and close all the way. As amazing as LCJ is, he made a lot of big mistakes today. He had a few awful turnovers and forced a lot of shots, including a couple BS flop attempts. Those made me furious, those are plays the 2018-2019 LCJ made. Maishe Dailey, aside from the shot (!!!!!!) looked like he needed to today. He didn't settle for jumpers and made some looks at the bucket, he needs to be even more aggressive. I agree on Ali's defense, that was surprising. He sure has been clutch this week! Trimble is so smooth, he creates his own shot so easily and has amazing range, he's incredible when he hits, unfortunately this is only the second such performance we've seen like that. This team isn't bad at all, but it's still a far way from great. There's a lot of work to do, March March March! Go Zips!
  19. Groce sounds much more calm today as compared to Saturday. I didn't get to watch today, but the effort must have been much better all around which is always a positive. The team's got major chemistry issues which is concerning, but hopefully the pressure of a normal season is less than normal and they can be patient to work through them. As of now, I'm not concerned about making the top 8. However, I'm not saying it's a done deal, especially if this continues. Look for Maishe Dailey to step up. He has to if this team is going to get close to its potential. He absolutely has to. On to Toledo. In Groce we trust.
  20. I absolutely loved that stretch last year where they were blowing out teams on the road. RIP. But I 10000% agree with previous posts in this thread, without a Cheese or X to take inside, the offense is stuck in the quick sand. Damn shame.
  21. 6-13 at the foul line, I must have jinxed them with the KD FT talk in another thread
  22. This team is more talented top to bottom than most of the league and they've been mediocre outside of like 3 halves of MAC play. Unacceptable.
  23. We're back to the 2018-2019 purgatory and I hate it.
  24. Yeah, I completely understand the reasoning. I also hate it.
  25. While there are some good players in the portal and the potential for guys like Bubba to leave too, I would be far more concerned if they were Arth recruits. While Boogie has been decent, including that awesome punt return, I think he, like every other skill player on the roster in 18-19, just wasn't enough to really make a difference and I see no reason not to get a different guy in there. He should do well and I think he will do well elsewhere, but if the parting message says nothing about the current staff, this is a move that both sides seem to be okay with. As for if Bubba leaves, that's certainly a much bigger blow and I'm not sure what to think of it. Honestly, I would kind of feel the same way I did when Utomi transferred from basketball. Like, excellent player, but perhaps he's simply not happy and would be better served going somewhere else. In that case, I have no problem with it! If the staff shows him the door, I would have a hard time understanding why as the defensive talent is simply not good. I would love if both young men wore Akron uniforms in 2021, but these are not the end of the world to me. When you're 1-17, I think Dollard is the only player that would scare me to see leave.
