  1. He's worsening his position. He's going from the 109th ranked defense to the 132nd. If his decision is financial, I guess I can live with that, but I can also criticize him. I have no problem crapping on college football players. They are adults and they are now professionals. There are a lot of 18-23 year olds playing in the NHL and MLB. When they play badly or make poor decisions in the fans mind, they get hit hard by the media and public. That's part of being a professional. Moreover, these guys are playing at taxpayer funded public institutions so they can take heat from that perspective also. They want the money, let them take the heat.
  2. Gundy just had a massive contract restructuring not in his favor. McCoy isn't the type of player he needs to coach at OSU beyond next season.
  3. This is a horrible look for college football. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/marshall-opts-out-of-independence-bowl-vs-army-amid-portal-exodus-louisiana-tech-tabbed-as-replacement/
  4. They are the only ones who care.
  5. I'm unimpressed. Average MAC QBs aren't going to get them to six wins at an ACC school. Wake has gone from John Wolford (played in the NFL) to Jamie Newman (solid QB) to Sam Hartman (NFL player) to Mitch Griffiths (talentless player who left for Marshall and then retired from football) and Hank Bachmeier (average at Boise State and disappointing at LA Tech). Bachmeier is a moron. I have no idea what they saw in a 25 year old who was that unaware. In addition, Clawson landed a QB from GA who is only six foot tall and 175 pounds. The point is this, his offense requires a physically and mentally solid QB. He has not had one in two years resulting in two losing season. I didn't think they could be worse in 2023 than in 2024, but they somehow pulled it off. I don't see a better QB next year. Another losing season next year will test how much good will Clawson has if this past season hasn't put it to the test already with a horrible loss to Louisiana. I think he has been at Wake for 12 years. He probably makes $4 million per year all in so he has made $48 million in a low cost of living area. If they are worse next year, the first game against Akron in 2026 could be the first game for a new coach.
  6. I'm currently watching Texas A & M play Purdue in what is so far a good game in a jam packed NBA arena. Somewhere between playing in an NBA arena and SVSM is a better idea than what Duquesne is doing. It's all so stupid. Maybe Santa will bring the Duquesne AD and ounce of creativity for Christmas.
  7. If we eliminated all of the coaches who violated NCAA rules when Holtz was a coach, the remaining coaches wouldn't fill up a phone booth.
  8. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/college-football-playoff-first-round-games-vs-nfl-week-16-shaping-up-to-be-tvs-biggest-heavyweight-fight/amp/ This is a story I'm interested in. College wants to act like a pro league and make it all about money. The NFL says FAFO.
  9. It's good to see we will be competing against a bad decision maker for at least a year until he transfers out and is blessed with an offer from another school.
  10. The annual budget is approximately $260 million. The $1.3 million we got from OSU is a drop in the bucket. Imagine what they could do if they stopped playing shell games with the athletic departments money. To me, it's not about the money. It's about the purpose of athletic department. Figure that out and there is a different perspective on the money.
  11. I heard free tuition for his 24 year old girlfriend was part of the compensation package.
  12. You make a good point. I struggle to understand why a player who didn't play much at a school or two will somehow be a problem solver at Akron, or any school they transfer to. Maybe the Indiana coach has it right. He takes transfers from lower divisions who have enough on video tape playing time in actual games to understand how good they are.
  13. I've always hated certain players. Now that the money is above table, I'm free to openly hate them.
  14. Wordy? More like self absorbed.
  15. Is his most recent, ,"I'm still in the transfer portal"?
  16. Can't they show an ounce of original thought?
  17. I'm blessed to have read this.
  18. "I'm blessed to have such little respect or caring for my teammates and friends, none of which I really cares much about because I'm a narcissist, that I can take the easy way out and abandon them for another school." Go "F" yourselves a-holes.
  19. I'm blessed.......
  20. It's nauseating how self serious it all is.
  21. "I'm entering the transfer portal" will suffice.
  22. I'll say the same thing about the OHSAA that I used to say about the NCAA. If it went under, high schools would find a way to play ten games a season. Exactly what is this organization doing to cause it to go broke?
  23. Maybe the playoffs should be abbreviated to eliminate crappy teams also in those spots. . Those other sports aren't as risky to injury and their playoffs aren't a disgusting money grab at the risk of youth health. Any other questions?
  24. I agree. This would be an excellent hire for a program like uncc. It's an almost invisible program and to hire a D1 conference champion will make at least people around their conference pay attention. People around Charlotte still won't care. Uncc is going to expand their stadium in the coming years. They need to get good quickly.
  25. All of the newcomers make me happy. Schools like OSU, USC, Alabama, Michigan, etc have been sitting around fat and happy for way too long. Unfortunately, a couple of those will be rewarded for being average by the end of the day as four of the playoffs spots are reserved for the popularity contest and potential viewership.
