If I was in your shoes, I'd do the same thing.

I didn't care who won. I just wanted the best man to win. Good luck to Mr. Moore.

As things look right now, tickets to both games should be easy to get. Chapel Hill is the easy choice since you will be right there. The statium is in the middle of campus with little parking. The best college football setting I have ever seen. Be prepared to walk a lot. UNC fans are a bunch of babies and be prepared to want to punch some of them in the face while you are there, but hold back from doing so. Franklin Street uptown is a cool scene. Lots of hot girls walking around. Wake is a much different atmosphere. Stadium is not on campus but the non parking pass parking is real good across the street at the basketball arena. There are some bars across the street from the BB arena that are good enough if you don't want to tailgate. The BB lot isn't the best place to tailgate. The stadium is about the size if Info so all seats are real good. Games not sold out so you can buy a ticket. Sit on the Wake side on the end near the new scoreboard as the sun is brutal on the visitor's side. Wake fans are Ivy League type people as Wake is a great school. Old money people who never get too excited or too down. They clap politely. Since I have no school loyalty and just want to watch college football, Wake is the choice for me. It is also an hour closer to my house than Chapel Hill. Lots of hot 60 year old women walking around. It all depends on what you want to do. GP1, please define what a hot sixty year old woman looks like. Post pixs if you can. Being sixty-eight myself, I find that women in their forties are the ones I lust for. You are just an old troll pervert. Jane Fonda still looks good. Linda Carter sill looks good, Jacklyn Smith is still outrageously gorgeous I think all if them are aat least 60. Not sure though. I guess what I'm saying is if you are located in Hollywood and have a lot of money and freinds that know people , you may have a very miniscule chance of finding a hot 60 year old Suzanne Somers perhaps? I prefer two 30 year olds. Or three 20 year olds.

I don't. In fact, I don't know what their motivations are. I want players who are primarily motivated to win. Facilities would be a secondary motivator. The University has banked everything on facilities and not doing the things necessary to win (the list is too long to type). KD is focused on winning. They could still be playing at Memorial Hall and he would find a way to get the program winning because it is his primary focus.
-
While they are important, they are one reason of many. The key to establishing a winning program is getting kids who are primarily motivated to win.

I generally don't recommend anywhere in California because the food is too healthy and I try to stay away from healthy food.

There are written performance evaluations (the physical proof you always ask for) saying his compliance with ncaa rules was unacceptable early in his career at tosu. Not only did he not mend his ways after the reviewing AD left the school, he got worse when he was not given written evaluations leading to a culture where guys were selling trinkets and he was lying to his superiors about a Federal drug investigation for several months. He was later terminated from his employer for these compliance violations. Enough proof? Would you hire someone at any business who had unacceptable compliance ratings on his/her written reviews and then was later fired for even worse compliance issues? If so, you should not be able to hire people because you don't understand when someone has character flaws. If Tressel was in sales, he is the kind of guy who would get a company investigated for Robinson Patman Act violations. Tressel can write books about God and family from now until kingdom come. He is a person with low character, a cheater, a phony and a con man. Consider yourself conned. People get conned by people each day. It isn't that big of a deal. Just take it for what it is worth and enjoy the rest of the day. LOL

Maybe you should learn to deal with it. I've written a lot of things over the years on this board that have driven people crazy and they have attacked me personally. If anyone could cry about abuse it is me, but I don't and never have. I understand this is a public board and people are going to say what they say. My advice...toughen up bitch.

I haven't gotten my Wake Forest tickets yet either.

It wasn't advice. It was pitty.

Poooor you.....

Depends on the primary motivator. Our basketball facilities are average at best yet we have the best team in the league. Our soccer facilities are probably worse than our basketball facilities yet we win national championships. I have yet to see a building make a tackle, complete a pass or go for a long run.
-
Bingo! We needed a stadium because the Rubber Bowl was falling down. Other than that, facilities are half of an athletic director's resume. The other half are half truths.
-
I sadly agree with sentence one. Facilities don't win games. Players win games. We need to get players who want to win and not come to UofA with the primary motivator being facilities.

Glad to help. If anyone is traveling anywhere, the Great GP1 has traveled through out the United States on business throughout his professional career and knows a ton of good places to eat. I've thought of writing a food guide for businessmen traveling for work. The seafood spaghetti? I'm green with envy. I hope you were able to take in the downtown area while there. I used to stay at the Courtyard across the street from The BOB. Grand Rapids is a great place.

7-5 gets a lot of mac teams to a bowl game.
-
I agree. We'll be better. The only question is, How much better? The other questions center around the rest of the MAC and in particular the division. OU will be good. Toledo will be improved, but they are in another division. Miami could be better than last year after winning the MAC, but we though that after 2005 and look what happened. Too much change at Temple to know what is going to happen. Every season, the MAC is up in the air. We just need to take advantage of our schedule early and get on a roll.
-
My prediction is this. We will start out the season 0-1. I will predict the rest of the season after the Temple game.

Akron September opponent's coach in hot water?
GP1 replied to Dr Z's topic in Off Topic, Smack & Jokes
Maybe, maybe not. Are we going to suspend every player coming out of college this season for five games who might have some relationship with a drug dealer? 80% of the rookies wouldn't be on the field for the first five games. -

Then you have a reading comprehension problem. I can't help with that. -
Akron September opponent's coach in hot water?

Respectfully, this is a bad point. We don't punish people in this country for crimes committed in another country. We may send them back to the country where they are charged, but we don't punish them here. -

Only authority that is stupid and wrong is stupid and wrong. Goddell is both stupid in many cases and wrong in this case...making him stupid and wrong. What Pryor did has nothing to do with his professional career. Will Goddell next suspend player from Miami who are now in the NFL and caught up in the problems going on at the U? -

Article Leave it up to Roger Goodell to actually make me feel sorry for Pryor. There is no reason for this other than Goodell is an attention whore. He is what is wrong with making a lifelong legal bureaucrat (he has only worked for the NFL in his professional career) the leader of a professional sports league. See something you don't like....make a rule. See a player you don't like...punish him with a rule. The guy is terrible. -
Good point about espn. A lot of complaining about politics and how ugly it becomes centers on the 24 hour news cycle and I would agree with that line of thinking. The 24 hour news cycle of espn has gotten college athletics out of control. ESPN is a problem. They all sit around and act shocked when a school is caught cheating, yet many of them played college football and saw first hand cheating. I don't know if the kids are not the problem. They are a secondary problem.
