Not fully, but enough. Speaking of enough, this is all you need. https://www.omnihotels.com/hotels/asheville-grove-park?utm_campaign=omni_gpirst_gpirst_all_x_nb_pmax_asheville_en_pmax_us&utm_content=&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_term=&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22157906576&gbraid=0AAAAADRUjgdY_ZVzJrI8ygJFAMel8jSsg&gclid=CjwKCAiAssfLBhBDEiwAcLpwfnCpFc6Os6tcjjUSoGJteu_SV7giVuhBcbcROka7kRWHXxVvlOINlxoCpqwQAvD_BwE

He has been to many football alumni events, participated in a ceremony honoring him at a game and spring practices over the years. That's more than a couple of half ass social media posts.

I think it would be a bad look for the Hurricanes, his employer.

Maybe he's more busy than Maxx Crosby.

Maybe he's busy?

https://www.si.com/fannation/college/cfb-hq/news/national-championship-indiana-miami-punch-mark-fletcher Am I the only one getting a little disgusted with what seems like every game having a post game dust-up? I attribute this jackassery to NIL and there being little consequences for bad behavior because you can always transfer somewhere else. If they want to be professionals, treat them like professionals. Want to embarrass the NFL/college football Mr. Player? Want to run your mouth to the point someone takes a swing at you? Here is a hefty fine. Players don't misbehave like this in the NFL because they will forfeit lots of money in terms of fines and game checks. Unionized college athletics now like the NFL and they can begin to get these clowns under control. If players want to appeal, they can have their union do it for them.

Indiana is probably the most interesting outcome in college football in my life. It's one thing for a team to upset another like App State did to Michigan. It's something entirely different for this kind of turnaround to result in such high level success.

I saw a documentary on Arizona State's point shaving scandal. The point guard was the key player. He didn't miss shots or play bad defense. All he did was slow down the progression of the office to the point that a big guy would get the ball 20 feet from the basket and be forced to throw up a shot because the shot clock was running out. He wasn't losing games. He was just keeping bad teams close.

It's too easy to do and keep secret.

Two Guardians were betting on the games they were playing in. In regards to your previous post, gambling isn't going to ruin college sports, it is in the process of ruining society. In particular, young men are ruining their futures gambling. Since we are talking gambling, I'll throw this out there. I would bet $5,000 that in the past 3 years, at least one starting player on the football team or MBB team has bet on a game they were playing in using a gambling app. It's too easy to get away with if you do it in small numbers.

Class of '26 Verbal Commits and Offers/Discussion
GP1 replied to Blue & Gold's topic in Akron Zips Football Recruiting
I guess he saw the writing on the wall after Tomlin resigned. -
No, just the result of new seats being put in an old stadium. 😁
-
Seats like you have in a pro sports stadium only with a little less leg room.
-
I have two 45 yard line seats 2/3 of the way up on the Wake Forest side. Six home games typically. The tickets, parking pass and whatever donation you need to make is only around $200 per game.

It's a little early but I thought I'd put this here. Forewarned is foretold. You have to have your head examined to sit on the west side. The sun will be brutal for the first half at least.
-
All true, but it's better than nothing and what would happen if the Federal government legislates it.

The problem with non-competes is each school would have their own. A collective bargaining agreement would make everything universal. I think at this point the universities would welcome a collective bargaining agreement because it will allow them to focus on other things.
-
Thanks for the article. I think that in order to have enforceable contracts with so many people, a collective bargaining agreement is necessary.

Has NIL and the transfer portal broken the monopoly in college football? Watching the playoffs and seeing OSU, Georgia and Alabama get removed from it by teams that 10 years ago were not in their same league makes me happy on some level. I was wrong about the rich getting richer in the NIL era in that there seems to be a limit as to how much you can buy. I was not wrong about the freedom of movement the TP offers leveling the playing field, I just didn't see what a huge influence it is. Players want to play because showcasing talent gets the biggest bag of all which is NFL money. Transferring is the best way to get on the field for high level talent. In the past, a team like Mississippi had close to the level of talent on their starting 22. Where they got destroyed was when they had to dip into their bench against an Alabama and there was a big drop off in talent. Before NIL, Alabama dipped into their bench on a miserably hot early September day in Tuscaloosa and pulled up another future NFL player. Today, that guy is playing on the starting team for their opponent.

Not nearly the loss now Seattle Seahawk Kenneth Walker III was a few years ago. They recovered that.

Miami's arena has all the energy of a mausoleum. It's a tough place to win when they are good. This is the kind of outcome that makes potential MAC Tournament rematches interesting.and fun for fans.

Divide that by two one more time. If we need four , why can't we just pair up the champion of each P4 conference? BTW, was anyone able to watch all three hours of GameDay yesterday? I turned it on with an hour and a half to go and the dumbbells on the show were trying to guess the weight of dumbbells. I turned it off knowing the last 90 minutes were only going to get worse.
-
They need to get off to a fast start. Mark my words, the Wake Forest game is winnable.

ESPN tells us the CFP is the greatest thing ever. I have a question. If it's so great, how come there are so many empty seats at the Orange Bowl?
