Please explain why you voted the way you did.Special prize for the poster with the least amount of "ifs" in your post. ;)
Akron wins a close one - I see turnovers making all the difference in this one, and think that we'll stay on top with fumble recoveries, or intercepting linemen blitzing the spread. 3-3-5 will finally be useful once, seems to matchup well against the spread. I'll be watching from the Alumni band, see you there!

I voted toss-up. The Zips offense still is inconsistent, with CJ and the running game. If both are clicking, it will be a shoot-out, since BG can indeed score a great deal with their weapons. Unfortunately, the Zips do not, as is many times the case, put pressure on QBs they are facing. This fact, could hurt us, especially when you consider that BG loves to pass. Just my take. GO ZIPS!!!!!!!!!

My heart (extended to the mouse) says Zips in a close one.I know this seems like an emotional let down game, but I think our guys will be fired up to be back home in front of a crazy crowd that's been drinking all day. If we lose this game, it's because of one or two stupid plays... INT's or a big blown coverage giving up a long pass play.Johnson comes back and we grind this one out.Oh, and peering into my magic ball, I see us breaking a long screen pass.20-17 Zips.

Akron in a close one. They are ready to take control of their destiny and that begins this week. They lost a game they should/could have won and won a game they could/(not gonna say should) have lost. Now is the time to step up and limit the mistakes and continue to make the big plays on D. I also see a kick return in this game (by us, of course). I will add one more note for the offense: please use Tuzze and Poindexter more. I know sometimes Poindexter has trouble catching the ball, but the TE is such an under-utilized weapon that by virtue of that very fact, should be a surprise to the opposing D. And Tuzze is a bull.Tailgate early and often!

Zips win a close one. Gary Pride will get some carries and prove to be the spark we need for a victory...

I predict a good game this week, despite moderate expectations.Jaq has fewer errors than last week and the running game re-emerges.Defense puts in a yeomans effort and looks solid all day.Zips 24 - BG 10

Call me the Eternal Optimist. I voted for a win >10. I think that in one of these games Akron will outperform our expectations in a big way, and why not this week? Beautiful weather, good times ahead for the program, a team that should be maturing, a QB that (here's where I go crazy with hope) should be growing up and learning from his mistakes. I also think that with the talent that Bowser has, he and Jac are going to explode one of these weeks. BGSU is full of false pride after losing to Eastern, instead of taking a spoonful of humility, as we've seen on the BGSU boards. This is the week that Akron separates from the rest of the pack.Alas, I won't be in attendance at the game or at OBC tomorrow, but I ask that everybody here add some anti-BGSU hostility and cheering for me, and as always.... GO ZIPS! SeeTeeZip

The more I think about this game, the better I feel about Akron winning. They are down a running back, just like us, and they just suffered an emotional defeat. Akron knows what is on the line in this game, and the players and coaches seem fired up about it. There was tons to learn after the watching the Can't game film, and I really think they have improved because of it (if not, then we have a serious coaching problem). It's time we finally got to celebrate a win at home.

I vote that Akron wins by 10 or more. Why?BG is a mentally weak team. You don't lose 65-7 in a bowl game unless you are mentally weak. You don't go on the road and beat Pitt....then lose at home to Eastern Michigan...unless you are mentally weak. You don't lose half of your 2007 defense to arrests...unless you are undisciplined and weak. The only Dr Z "if" I will place is - IF we jump on them, they'll fold. People don't give K.e.n.t.'s defense much credit. Those guys played a tough game last week. K.e.n.t. lost to Ball State by the same score as Akron. K.e.n.t.'s better than their record indicates...they just have a choker kicker, and 30 years of losing to overcome every time they step on the field.K.e.n.t.'s defense gave us fits...but they have the best defense of any team we'll play the remainder of the season. We will romp on BG offensively. Even Dennis Kennedy should be good for 80+ yards rushing. Defensively - We'll be fine. BG doesn't have a big-play offense. And the Zips create a lot of turnovers. Our offense will give the D some time to rest this week. The D will do enough to win.Zips 52 BG 31

I voted that BG will win a close one because...1) After last week, I think they are due to another big offensive game.2) They are just too much for us if we both play a good game. Lets hope they play as poorly as they did last week, but I just have a funny feeling that will not happen.

I voted a toss up. BG is too up and down to get a good read on them. If Johnson were to play, I would say Akron in a close one. I like DK, but I see our offense struggling if he get 20 carries a game. With a good ground game, Jacq looks a lot better, with a bad ground game, I worry about too much pressure on Jacq. Somehow though, I like this team's way of finding ways to stay in the game.

The Zips will win by 7, on the strength of a BWill INT return for a TD. He's been making big plays consistently on run defense all season, and this is the week he takes advantage of a mistake in the passing game by Sheehan.Zips 38BUGS 31

Everything is on the line today. Everything. This is where the team shows what they're made of. Do they take control of their fate, or do they back down and turn out to be just another mediocre team?

Akron wins a close one. I don't think the Zips will do much the whole game, but a few big plays will be the difference. One on offense by Jones or Bowser, one on defense by Carter or Lemon. Of course, a blow out would be nice!
