RowdyZip Posted January 7, 2009 Report Posted January 7, 2009 The question is begged...how low can the MAC go, after this year's dismal start in basketball?Rice 38WMU 14FAU 24CMU 21LA Tech 17NIU 10UCONN 38Buffalo 20Tulsa 17Ball State 7(2nd quarter)Overall PF: 134 (26.8ppg)Overall PA: 54 (10.8ppg)Ball State comes back for a victory and it ties the MAC the 2nd worst bowl winning percentage (1-4, .200) with the WAC. MDZip Posted January 7, 2009 Report Posted January 7, 2009 And to take it a little further, what has happened to Ohio football? Losses by Cinci and tOSU and not one other Ohio team made a bowl game? (or is that what the OH-for-bowl season in the title was supposed to indicate?) The MAC is primarily Ohio schools and all of them sat home for bowl season. The only out-of-state MAC teams that didn't make a bowl were EMU and Temple. Guess we have to be happy Mt. Union is in Ohio. Quote
InTheZone Posted January 7, 2009 Report Posted January 7, 2009 Guess we have to be happy Mt. Union is in Ohio. Not to mention a D2 Ashland squad who finished the year ranked 14th in D2 if the poll I'm looking at is correct. Who are they coached by again?? Quote

Wow.Ball State showed how bad the MAC really is. They are the best team in our conference and they got blown out by Tulsa. Quote

Here's one of my personal favorites:http://zipsnation.org/forums//index.php?showtopic=1436It seems in the spring of '05, you didn't think we could win a MAC title with Lee Owens "horrid" last two recruiting classes as upperclassman. Our dueling analysis of the players is also quite humerous. How did those guys, Jabari Arthur, John Mackey, and Reggie Corner, turn out anyways??Love ya Cap Quote
ctmjbowes@sbcglobal.net Posted January 7, 2009 Report Posted January 7, 2009 After getting home on the late-ish side last night, I flicked through the channels and happened upon the Sad Sack State - Tulsa game and couldn't believe my eyes. SOAKED slick field, somewhat dingy looking affair overall, not a whole ton of fans in the stands, and Nate Jerkoff and Co. losing by a ton. Is it actually a good thing to be in that bowl game at all, from an overall casual-fan standpoint? The whole thing just felt low budget and crappy, IMO. I smiled at the thought of those a-holes from Jumbly State losing big on such a terrible night, and changed the channel. Schadenfreude is a wonderful thing. It's all good baby.GO ZIPS 2009! INFOSUMMA BABY!SeeTeeZip Quote
