akronad
From what I was told last week, they are hoping to release the schedule the week of of the Spring scrimmage, if they are lucky. BTW, they are planning on giving tours of Infocision Stadium on 4/4. Unfortunately, DW and I will be leaving for a cruise and will not get to see it at that time. ZachTheZip
From what I hear, all sorts of crazy stuff is going on with the football schedule.Does it involve a school from a rectangular state? Colorado needs to play a game at a MAC school, and we can always drop USD. It makes perfect sense, which means that the MAC office will screw it all up by forcing one of the other MAC schools to drop a game, creating a never-ending chain of teams being dropped by MAC schools until we end up with the least desirable home game in the country.Whoever gets Colorado gets a home game on ESPN. The ESPN, not one of the "ESPN network" channels. It would likely be played on a Friday, but the only time I like weekday games is when we're on a major channel. We need this stadium to be showcased to the nation.
Bleacher Bum
From the east, you'd think Can't, OU, and Temple at home, then BG & Buffalo on the road based on last year's schedule. But that could all be bunk, especially because we didn't even play Miami last year.

Dr Z
I don't care about exposure anymore. I'm selfish, I want 6 pm Saturday home games all the time. I enjoy those the most.I can pre and post tailgate and enjoy the game.
xu9697
As much as playing Colorado would be nice, the fact is that playing 3 BCS schools already is enough. I know the theory..play anyone, anywhere. But if the schedule is PSU on the 5th, Colorado on the 11th/12th and then Indiana on the 19th..that is going to be a bear. I believe in this team, but that is tough road to hoe. I think we could win against Colorado, but getting beat up against 2 BCS teams before IU might leave them flat for that game. There is an advantage in playing a team like South Dakota to get other guys work (like Rodgers) and to be well healed going into the MAC portion.Prepare all summer for PSU (along with general preparation).Play them 9/5 Definitely a chance for an upset!!!Go over what went right, wrong, heal up. 2 weeks to prepare for IU. Remember, with 2 new offensive coaches and supposedly a new defensive scheme, having 1 game under our belt and then 2 weeks to prepare could be huge.Play IU 9/19= win! I might go so far as saying, if we play PSU well, that we would be the favorite.9/26= play South Dakota. Get everyone some work.10/3= beat Syracuse3-1. Play the MAC..go 6-2..9-3 and in the MAC championship. Jacquemain vs. LeFevour..win it, 10-3, ranked 23rd...play Minnesota in the Motor City Bowl..win.11-3, ranked #18. ksu sucks
Prepare all summer for PSU (along with general preparation).Play them 9/5 Definitely a chance for an upset!!!I totally agree that we could beat PSU. But it's going to take a lot more than just preperation. I have a class with some football player, and he was joking the other day about how Akron doesn't have "a chance" at beating Penn state. I dont know who the kid is, how important he is to the team(probably not very), but his attitude is exactly the issue that this program has to overcome. We could build a stadium worth twice as much as the info, but if the players don't believe, it's over before it starts.

She does an excellent job blogging on the non bcs schools Thanks for an interesting article. It seems as if the MAC schools and the league itself is playing musical chairs. In my mind, this has to stop. Non-league games and schedules shoudl be set-up in my mind, at least 3 years in advance. I know some of the bigger schools have committments for the next 5 years, at the very least. Also, part of the MAC's problem is the unbalanced schedule since there are 13 teams in the league, and the MAC's willingness to kiss butt with ESPN and schedule way too many weeknight games. Captain Kangaroo
Chryst said nonconference scheduling is on each school and that the conference did not contribute in overscheduling, if overscheduling did occur.

I think the player should be outed to the team, the coaches, and this community. Then he should be cut from the team (whoever he is). There are still many unsigned high skilled players (many still available in the JUCO ranks) that would give their all to be able to play at UA. This unknown player with this attitude can easily be replaced with someone who will be much much more valuable to this team. In my book, anyone player who thinks that we can't beat Penn is someone that I would not allow on the team. Just my opinion. Maybe some people have their doubts about this season's group of players, but I do not. It would be different if the 2009 Zips were the 2008 Zips, but we're not. Somebody better get this mesaage to the team. We do have the talent, I just hope we have the faith/heart to pull off a beautiful upset. Just think of the Big Big Party we all want to be a part of. GO ZIPS! CRUSH PENN. KICK THEIR ASSES!!!
