I learned to dislike the guy when he stiffed JD on Signing Day and elected to attend K.e.n.t. He'll finish his career 1 - 3 vs. the Zips...stuck on the sidelines of their empty, crappy stadium...watching his teammates limp to a 2-10 season.I am sorry to hear his career is over. Especially in that fashion. But since he stiffed us for K.e.n.t., I'm not shedding any tears. At least he had a really nice high school career. And maybe he can root for the Zips the rest of the way out. It would be fun for him to root for a winner, I'm assuming."On the Hunt"

http://www.ohio.com/news/break_news/59274237.htmlDoug Martin on the NCAA: "If this kid doesn't get a sixth year, everybody in Can't should storm the NCAA, and we should burn the place down.''Great way to get them on your side when you're petitioning them for a favor, Doug. :lol:He also guarantees that his team will be in a bowl game this year because he doesn't care about losing both the starting QB and RB.

Zach...when I first read this, I have to be honest, I thought you were joking about what he said. That is just unimaginable...and not the first time he's said something that's made me shake my head.Like I've always said about this guy....if it quacks like a duck, and walks like a duck.....it's a duck.

Zach is correct! To quote Coach Douggie "...if this kid doesnt (get a 6th yr), everybody in Can't should storm the NCA and we should burn the place down!"we may not have our starting QB and we dont have our starting RB. But I dont care. I guarantee every Can't state fan (all 14) rght now this is gon to be a winnin football team nd this footbll team is going to be in a bowl game!"A few thoughts...... perhaps Coach Martin and Indians Eric Wedge can find new employment after their seasons are over in positive public speaking. How can a D1 coach even in frustration joke about violence. I have no doubt that the players on Can't State remaining work as hard as anyone and for them I feel for their misfortune. While its true Eugene Jarvis jilted us at Akron I hope for the best for him and wish him luck getting a 6th yr ( as did Alex Allen). How does Can't State's honorable and well respected AD continue to supprt Mr Martin?? And how do the fans feel about this??

Wow, that sucks. I love that little guy!Plus, I wanted to absolutely pummel Can't into the ground while they were @ full strength. He was their ONLY offensive player that looked dangerous when I went to their opener against Coastal Carolina.
Funny story...I was down at Ohio University for the Can't/OU game in 2007 and I was sitting in that park area on the north side of the stadium with a megaphone just heckling any and all Can't fans(i was a big intoxicated). So this lady walks by with a few guys and she has a Jarvis jersey on. I yell at her "Eugene Jarvis SUCKS!" and she responds "Eugene Jarvis is my son!" So i came back with "well your son sucks!". And let's just say i almost had to run away from a mom because she started coming at me and i thought she was going to kill me.So it's no surprise that he's so tough because i know his mom sure is.

Met a fella at a bar called 69 Taps who said he was your roommate. He loved club baseball too and said you guys would be great this year. What he didn't say was that you were nuts enough to put down a Jarvis cub in front of momma lion. Not a smart move. I would have bet on mom to beat your butt. I hope to share a beer with you and hear more of this harrowing escape from death. Mom's know two things: 1) they will always protect their young and 2) :screwks:

PD Article on JarvisMy favorite passage --Around K.e.n.t., where football angst comes in a heartbeat, this news would immediately signal yet another losing season. But Martin, with team captain Brian Lainhart sitting beside him, threw down his battle ax instead.Martin, the sixth-year coach who has yet to see a winning season, went on to say even without K.e.n.t.'s starting tailback and starting QB, it is time for coaches and players to collectively "show up.""I guarantee right now we're going to have a winning season, and we're going to a bowl game," Martin said. "I'm burning the ships." That was a reference to Vikings burning their vessels when they arrived at the lands they expected to conquer.Lainhart looked momentarily stunned :iws: What are the odds K.e.n.t. wins 3 games this season? 50 - 1?I'm with Lainhart.

Well based off the probability of winning each individual game we can figure out the probability of them winning 2 more of the remaining 10.But I'm busy so I'll say "fat chance of winning more than 2 more games this season"Sep 3 Coastal Carolina Won 18-0 Sep 12 @Boston College Lost 7-34 Sep 19 Iowa St. 7:00pm likely lossSep 26 Miami (Ohio) 7:00pm Miami is attrocious, So I will give k.e.n.t. thisOct 3 @Baylor 7:00pm likely lossOct 10 Bowling Green 3:30pm lossOct 17 @E. Michigan 4:00pm I don't see the depleted O keeping upOct 24 @Ohio 2:00pm lossOct 31 W. Michigan 2:00pm lossNov 7 @Akron 3:30pm if this isn't a loss we need to march to Can't and burn it downNov 21 @Temple 1:00pm possilbe win, likely the lowest score of the seasonNov 27 Buffalo 2:00pm lossSo it depends on Miami and Temple. This could very easily become a 1-11 season.

it's hard to predict these guys. They will lose nearly every game in the year, and then go out and beat the team that becomes MAC champs in the last game of the season.Without their QB and RB though? Maybe Martin has some "in" with the football gods.
Well it must be the football gods because there is no way the real God is a fan of that mess that is Can't.

As a physician, if he has been healthy there would be no reason to investigate the possibility of a solitary kidney, this is an uncommon but not rare condition. What truly concerns me is the idea of petitioning for a 6th year. With only one organ of a pair congenitally, if that kidney is injured, there is not anotehr to pick up the slack, meaning dialysis. Its one thing when you don't know, its another when the information becomes known. I would not play any collision sport or let my child play with only one of a paired organ. The risk of injury is apparently uncommon to rare (Am J Sports Med January 2008 vol. 36 no. 1 85-90 ), but could be catastrophic.I loved watching him play, and he truly has my condolences. The Can't State rivalry is one of the best things going at UA and anything that takes away from it hurts UA as well.

I actually think Can't has a chance in the Iowa St. game, even w/o Jarvis and Morgan. Apparently, so does Vegas as ISU is only a 3 point favorite. The Cyclones are not very good at all. They're BARELY the 3rd best team in their state. But Baylor is going to wax them in Waco. The rest of your assessment is hard to argue against.
