Blue & Gold
Wow, that sucks. I love that little guy!Plus, I wanted to absolutely pummel Can't into the ground while they were @ full strength. He was their ONLY offensive player that looked dangerous when I went to their opener against Coastal Carolina.
Captain Kangaroo
I learned to dislike the guy when he stiffed JD on Signing Day and elected to attend K.e.n.t. He'll finish his career 1 - 3 vs. the Zips...stuck on the sidelines of their empty, crappy stadium...watching his teammates limp to a 2-10 season.I am sorry to hear his career is over. Especially in that fashion. But since he stiffed us for K.e.n.t., I'm not shedding any tears. At least he had a really nice high school career. And maybe he can root for the Zips the rest of the way out. It would be fun for him to root for a winner, I'm assuming."On the Hunt"
skip-zip
I could never root for the guy, and I wish for him to play poorly, but feel badly for any athlete who has to get that kind of news. There's no hope for Can't State now. Oh...wait...their one linebacker predicted in the newspaper that they'd win the MAC
ZachTheZip
I hate to see kids go down with injuries, even at Can't. A kidney laceration is a rough way to end your season.Too bad. Now the only thing that can make the wagon wheel game interesting will be the off-the-field antics of the Rowdies.
ZZZips
A nice note on David Carducci's Can't Sports Blog about UA's response to the Jarvis injury. Also note that Carducci is reporting that Can't QB Morgan is out for this weeks Iowa State game. The point spread on this game is going to be ugly.http://www.blogs.dixcdn.com/kentstatesports/

To quote Coach Douggie "...if this kid doesnt (get a 6th yr), everybody in Can't should storm the NCA and we should burn the place down!"we may not have our starting QB and we dont have our starting RB. But I dont care. I guarantee every Can't state fan (all 14) rght now this is gon to be a winnin football team nd this footbll team is going to be in a bowl game!"A few thoughts...... perhaps Coach Martin and Indians Eric Wedge can find new employment after their seasons are over in positive public speaking. How can a D1 coach even in frustration joke about violence. I have no doubt that the players on Can't State remaining work as hard as anyone and for them I feel for their misfortune. While its true Eugene Jarvis jilted us at Akron I hope for the best for him and wish him luck getting a 6th yr ( as did Alex Allen). How does Can't State's honorable and well respected AD continue to supprt Mr Martin?? And how do the fans feel about this??

So this lady walks by with a few guys and she has a Jarvis jersey on. I yell at her "Eugene Jarvis SUCKS!" and she responds "Eugene Jarvis is my son!" So i came back with "well your son sucks!". He loved club baseball too and said you guys would be great this year. What he didn't say was that you were nuts enough to put down a Jarvis cub in front of momma lion. Not a smart move. I would have bet on mom to beat your butt. I hope to share a beer with you and hear more of this harrowing escape from death. ZippyTuba11
it's hard to predict these guys. They will lose nearly every game in the year, and then go out and beat the team that becomes MAC champs in the last game of the season.Without their QB and RB though? Maybe Martin has some "in" with the football gods.

doccomet87
As a physician, if he has been healthy there would be no reason to investigate the possibility of a solitary kidney, this is an uncommon but not rare condition. What truly concerns me is the idea of petitioning for a 6th year. With only one organ of a pair congenitally, if that kidney is injured, there is not anotehr to pick up the slack, meaning dialysis. Its one thing when you don't know, its another when the information becomes known. I would not play any collision sport or let my child play with only one of a paired organ. The risk of injury is apparently uncommon to rare (Am J Sports Med January 2008 vol. 36 no. 1 85-90 ), but could be catastrophic.I loved watching him play, and he truly has my condolences. The Can't State rivalry is one of the best things going at UA and anything that takes away from it hurts UA as well.

The Cyclones are not very good at all. They're BARELY the 3rd best team in their state. But Baylor is going to wax them in Waco. The rest of your assessment is hard to argue against.
