InTheZone Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 Alright, we've put it off long enough. After what we witnessed last week, does anyone really think we're gonna win this one? Quote
Valpo Zip Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 Do you really want to hear the answer to this question? I hate to be pessimistic but It is not looking good. Quote
skip-zip Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 Oh, come on guys. There's still 9 games left! Remain optimistic a little bit longer. I'm not quite ready yet to forget about the football and just and the rest of the season. I think this will be the game where we find out if our defense has gotten better in the off-season, since this is a MAC East opponent that piled up some good yardage and points on us last year. And after those numbers they put on BG last week, it's going to take a great effort by our guys to slow them down. This should also be a game where our offense has a chance to get rolling. I expect a wild game with a lot of scoring (except that it may be raining). A turnover in a key situation late in the game could decide this one.I think our boys have something to prove, are rested, and will respond at home.No RainAkron - 35OU - 31RainAkron - 24OU - 23 Quote
Zipmeister Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 I predict a 14 point win for the Zips. Quote
ctmjbowes@sbcglobal.net Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 I'm going to go with:OU 38UA 13Please prove me wrong JD & Co. Either way I'll be there having a blast, not to mention plenty of brewski-age.GO ZIPS!STZ Quote
MDZip Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 I predict a 14 point win for the Zips.I predict the same except substitute Bobcats for Zips.I don't hold out a lot of hope but I would be happy to be proven wrong. Quote
johnnyzip84 Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 Man, what happened to the "it's the MAC, anything can happen" and "we're coming into the easy part of our schedule now" sentiment????I think the Bobcats are clearly a better team. But they don't usually play well in Akron. I'll take Akron and the 4 or 5 points.OU 27UA 24 Quote
scottditzen Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 I still like our chances. The Boobcats had a big win vs. BG, and they won't be able to maintain consistency. Not here in Akron. Not in our house. Ohio 24Akron 27 Quote
WinZip Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 This is one of those games where I won't be surprised no matter the outcome. The Zips haven't proven themselves worth a sneeze, but the talent to win is there (somewhere). It's still early and I'm holdin out hope that this can be turned around.Zips- 20OU-17Lets go zips! Quote
ZachTheZip Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 I think it will be a high-scoring affair.I'm less interested in the final score than i should be. I'm more concerned with seeing whether Rodgers shows significant improvement from last game to this one. Quote
Dr Z Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 Man, what happened to the "it's the MAC, anything can happen" and "we're coming into the easy part of our schedule now" sentiment???? ThisOU 31UA 20 Quote
tim123 Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 My prediction depends on the personel changes,if we stay with the same offensive personel we lose by 10 if we change and the play calling gets more inventive who knows. Let's face it this season is basically a wash what with CJ blowing it up. If the team can man up and play to there potential we can possibly salvage a winning season. I know I'll be there roooooting the team on. Go Zips!! Quote
vmd9 Posted October 7, 2009 Report Posted October 7, 2009 OU 42Akron 10We played awful last game that's all I have to say. It was embarrassing and I feel another one coming. Just glad this game won't be on FSN... Quote

akronad Posted October 7, 2009 Report Posted October 7, 2009 Zips over OU.Also, I just found the sheet I had scribbled my prognostications on for the season.I have or had us defeating Morgan St., OU, Can't St., Temple & EMUWe are or going to take it on the chin by PSU,CMU & NIUToss up games are or were Indy, Buff, Syra, & BG.Basically, record wise we are where I thought might be, however, the manner and style of play have been far below any of our expectations.DW & I will be in lot #14 Saturday with chili. Stop by. Quote
zestycoyote Posted October 7, 2009 Report Posted October 7, 2009 Zips: 14Bobcats: 10I'm going to call 10 tackles, 2 INT and 2 FF by Brian Wagner. His true hello to the MAC. Quote
RowdyZip Posted October 7, 2009 Report Posted October 7, 2009 Cold and possibly wet weather means the vat of cinnamon tinted (spiked) warm apple cider makes it's first appearance at lot 9. Ohio 38Zips 31Sorry... Quote
zipboy Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 JD doesn't worry about saving Rodgers from injury and let's him carry it 10 times. Rodgers running more coupled with many more 2 back sets helps the Zips actually get a few first downs without penalty. If we don't look any better this week, we aren't getting better the rest of the year. 23-19 Akron and ZN has hope for another week. Quote
Zipsrifle Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 I'll make my prediction with about 5 sec. left in the 4th quarter. Quote
johnnyzip84 Posted October 9, 2009 Report Posted October 9, 2009 This has to be one of the slowest Fridays before homecoming I've ever seen on ZN. I admit, I'm right there with most of you. Come on Zips.....wake us up tomorrow!!! Quote
