Dr Z
This is a pretty cool site that shows the forecast for the game. I'll be going up to Canada to do some gambling Friday. Here is how the teams match up.
ZippyTuba11
Do we need a passport to get into the game? [/sarcasm]Would love to go, as I have a few friends in Buffalo, but it just won't happen this year.
Captain Kangaroo
I will be there to watch "The Kid" get his first win.
Zipsrifle
We'll be going, looks like 4 of us. We're going to try some "real Buffalo wings" and then do some old school tailgating (chairs, beer, food and that's it). It's a day trip for us as the kids will be at the grandparents. More importantly, I get to check another MAC stadium off my list.

FWIW, the best wings I ever had were at a dive bar in south Buffalo here: 9 Sheffield Avenue Buffalo NY 14220 (don't worry its a pretty decent neighborhood, at least it was 7 years ago when I lived there). Anchor bar is good but most of the really good pizza and wings you will find will be in South Buffalo and on the West Side. Given that in South Buffalo your car is far less likely to get jacked you may want to try there. If you want to stick to the area around UB there is a great Pizza place called Just Pizza near the souch campus 3500 Main St but I never found really good wings in that area.. Being a Buffalonian I am something of a Wing Snob..BTW, Shameless blog promotion below, please feel free to ignore ;)25 Questions, Akron: http://bull-run.blogspot.com/2009/10/25-questions-akron.htmlUs Against Them: http://bull-run.blogspot.com/2009/10/us-ag...at-buffalo.html
Dr Z
Us Against Them: http://bull-run.blogspot.com/2009/10/us-ag...at-buffalo.htmlWow, your Special Teams must really stink if this is true.Special Teams (Akron, Comfortable) While neither team has anything to brag about Akron leads Buffalo in just about every single category.Agreed.Defense (Buffalo, Very slight)Akron's defense has been equally terrible, Aside from Morgan State and recently against Ohio they have given up more than 30 points in every game this year and they are last in the conference in sacks. If they are behind Buffalo in any area is the defensive backfield where UB just plane hits harder.Agreed.Offense (Buffalo, Comfortable)Akron Freshman Patrick Nicely is going to be a high profile quarterback someday, he already elevated the play of his team when he came on in relief against the Bobcats. Being pressed into service because of injury without a full red shirt year is going to mean a rough adjustment but he is very capable of having a monster day against most MAC d's. As good as Nicely may be he will need time in the pocket and something resembling a running game if there is going to be any kind of consistent success this season.Agreed.Coaching (Buffalo, Safe)Despite starting well (including a divisional win in 2005) J.D. Brookhart is starting to wear out his welcome in Akron. He has went 9-17 in conference games and 14-22 in all games over the past three seasons. If he was ever going to turn it around at Akron this was the year. Basically the university could have made this a great season for the football culture without winning the conference. If Akron managed a decent start to the season (beating IU, Playing the Chips close) and ended up with even a moderately competitive (6-6) season the zips probably would have been averaging close to 20K a game. Bull_In_Exile
- Wow, your Special Teams must really stink if this is true.Where to start... The fumble in our first kickoff return against Pitt? Giving up long return (past the 30) against everyone but GWebb, having the shortest punting average in the nation? missing two extra points in our last game... My friend I would trade special teams with *anyone* in the MAC right now... Glad to see you agree with the rest

And our special teams had 2 full weeks to prepare for the game.

Quite a season we are having, before our game last year Buffalo and Akron fans were arguing about who had the better team (this year its the worse team)..I did note that your kicker is worse but that may be because Gill usually does not give AJ a shot at anything more than

We have TWO kickers worse than AJ, and we alternate between them after every shank just to keep their confidence low.BTW -- Duff's or Anchor Bar? I haven't been to Duff's, but it seems to get the best reviews?

I haven't been to Duff's, but it seems to get the best reviews?LOL, maybe if Akron can get 11 devoted guys up to the game then both teams should be allowed to put 11 fans on the field for special teams plays...I have heard good things about Duff's, I never made it there before leaving the state but its where UB fans go to watch away games. My preference is 911, a dive in south Buffalo (so named because its two buildings 9 and 11 put together, were it me I would have changed the name after 911 but like I said, its a dive.. I would like to see a 6 or 7 by Saturday. The Spectator Index helps give you an idea of how comfortable you'll feel while watching the game, or tailgating beforehand.Excellent (10), Very Good (9, 8), Good (7, 6), Fair (5, 4), Poor (3,2), Very Poor (1)

Dr Z
It will be interesting after watching each team who changes whose mind. What a season, when this is a discussion. I'm starting to think Akron will win just based on this debate of who has the worst special teams play. Also thinking of betting the money line at +277.
