Zipfalls_DSS
From a close source, I was told that the men's basketball team is looking to add an athletic combo guard out of the Philadelphia area to the team. His name is Torrell Candelaria, he's a McDonald's All-American Nominee, 6'2, 6'8 wingspan, attends Girard College High School, and also being recruited by Oregon! He's an under the radar guy and will be a steal for any college that gets him. Many teams feared him for his uncanny shooting ability, but he is also a very athletic all around guard! I hope we can get this kid! Zipmeister
I am gonna believe whatever you say cause the last guy to join the nation just to tell us about a GREAT recruit with monster hands has proved to be incredibly accurate. Strange you should mention that because I met and talked with Merton Miller back in the 80s and he was a HUGE college football fan. He showed me his list of speaking engagements and they were all scheduled so that he could conveniently attend big time games.
Valpo Zip
Bardo has been on scholarship for four years already and he already graduated from his program and started working towards a graduate degree. Would it be too bad if he finishes grad school on a teaching or a research assistantship?

Would it be too bad if he finishes grad school on a teaching or a research assistantship? Not sure if Akron would be allowed to do this. I asked this question some months ago and was told that it is not allowed. Lest, many, many schools padded their roster in this manner. Quickzips
The only way I can see this kid on this team is as a walk-on. I doubt we are going to leave ourselves with only one true C on this team by essentially shooing Bardo out the door. I also can't imagine us asking Daryl to give up the scholarship that we just gave him last year. Maybe Candelaria is a backup plan in case Humpty walks away? I dunno, I just don't see this one happening.

Zip Watcher
If my memory serves me right, this wouldn't be the first player lost to Jacksonville. I wish I could find that team photo. GoZips
sez on his Facebook bio that he hates "F....ing mosquitos". He'll just love Jacksonville located on the swampy St. John's River. I spent some time at NAS Jacksonville (on the river) while serving in the US Navy.

If a stipend is a normal part of being a G.A., it is not obvious to me how "obviously you couldn't pay him." Are you trying to set up the University for some kind of discrimination lawsuit (against tall slow white guys)?
