Kangaroo Craig Posted October 24, 2005 Report Posted October 24, 2005 Was it just me, or did it seem like the 10,000 or so on our side of the field Saturday were just sitting on their hands most of the game. Zippy did his best to get folks fired up, but not much response. I understand that offensively there was nothing to cheer for, but the defensive needs support and they should be credited for good plays as well. It was embarrasing to see a few hundred cadets on the other side that were three times as loud as we were. If you were listening on the radio you would have thought that the attendence was less than 3,000. Quote
Captain Kangaroo Posted October 24, 2005 Report Posted October 24, 2005 Our football team: * Got shut out * Got shut out on Homecoming * Got shut out on Homecoming to an 0-6 team * Got shut out on Homecoming to an 0-6 team in a cold rainstorm Are the fans supposed to tear down goal posts after such a performance? As a Zips fan, that game was just about the worst thing you could fathom to witness. The fans can't shoulder any of the blame for this one. The Army team gave their fans someting to cheer about. The Zips team did the exact opposite. Quote
Dr Z Posted October 24, 2005 Report Posted October 24, 2005 Was it just me It was pouring and we sucked. As I heard one Akron staffer say "god bless each one of you for being here" Quote
msopher Posted October 24, 2005 Report Posted October 24, 2005 Thank God my cousin talked me out of going to my 1st Akron game. That would have left a sour taste in my mouth. Quote

Hilltopper Posted October 25, 2005 Report Posted October 25, 2005 I was just trying to stay dry and warm. Quote
Zipsrifle Posted October 25, 2005 Report Posted October 25, 2005 Was I sitting on my hands???? I just thought that was the broken bleachers under me, but I guess it was my frozen hands. I was very impressed with the turnout, especially with the crappy weather. With performances like that, there won't be enough of a home crowd to make substantial noise in the future. Quote

I'm simply baffled that someone can complain about the Zips fans that showed up to watch that game. Quote
