Froze my a** off in the Bowl when the Zips clinched the MAC EAST by demolishing Can't in a blizzard! Wouldn't trade it for the world. For all her misgivings the ol' lady looked good when i saw her packed (Acme Zip, Massilon/McKinley and McKinley/St.Ign state playoffs), much better than the pics i've seen of Penden (OU) post renovations... Ponit is, give me a good Akron team and i'll take the peeling paint and crumbling concrete anyday! Championship in the Info just as good!

This reminds me of the Pens playing in good old Mellon Arena. Sure the hallways were built for 8,000 people, and restroom waits are 25 minutes. And there are about 15 concession stands in the whole place. But they win, so who cares? I'd watch the Zips play on a cow pasture if they were winning.

Hell, we watched the soccer team play in that sorry excuse for a high school girls soccer stadium last year...

Sat in the frozen water, one porta-jon was the only "facilities". And the students got to pay for the pleasure.

I didn't try the food, was afraid to.

If I'm interpreting the choices correctly, it amounts to asking what's more important, a nicer facility or a better team? That's a purely hypothetical question, because the two are not directly related, other than the fact that a nicer facility is at least slightly more likely to attract better players than a poor facility, all other things being equal.

The only way I can see someone preferring the nicer facility to the better team is if they are fair weather fans who are more interested in their own comfort than in winning. They likely wouldn't show up if it was raining, snowing, or too cold, either.

I watched the best soccer team in the country last year in what amounted to a slightly-above-average high school soccer "stadium" with some bleachers and a hill made of mud. If they weren't winning but played in a palace, I doubt I would have gone to a single game.

Winning is more important than a nice facility. But not being in a structure that's in danger of a catastrophic collapse is more important than either choice.

See I interpreted this completely different.

It never specified a losing Akron team at the Info and a winning Akron team at the Rubber bowl, it just said a "losing team and a winning team".

I assumed at the Info I would be watching a Losing team play a Winning Akron, while choice B would have been watching a MAC Champion (like Ohio, or CMU) win against a losing Akron.

Can I vote for tailgating at the Rubber Bowl, but playing our games at Info?

Not only can you vote for it, just like last year, you can still do it next season.

I would pay someone to do that next season.

No I wouldn't. But it would be incredibly funny to drive by and just see some guy grilling out by himself in front of the rubber bowl.
