UADavid
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/polls This would never have happened five years ago. The numbers will free fall from here because the MAC has so many weak teams but it"s good to see it now. Cleveland St. will pull us down Wednesday, but over the season will undoubtedly help our numbers. We need to play better than we did against YSU to win this game. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/polls?poll=
ZachTheZip
SOS is tops because our two opponents have one loss between them. Cleveland State is 4-0, so a win there improves the numbers even more. Our upcoming schedule is actually pretty good.
skip-zip
Of course it will free-fall considerably over the next several weeks, no matter how we play. But, it is pretty cool to see that.

Quickzips
With the next five games being CSU, Detroit, UIC, Temple and Minnesota we ought to be able to stay pretty close to the top. I can't help but wonder whether, if the Zips can pull out some upsets against say Temple and/or Minnesota if an at-large is necessarily out of the question this year. Kudos to KD for actually putting together a halfway respectable OOC schedule this season.

Kudos to KD for actually putting together a halfway respectable OOC schedule this season. I like someone who thinks like this. As you well know, I think an at-large consideration should always be the goal, but I don't think this schedule (although better) was good enough to get that done, especially with Dayton already eliminated from the "big teams we beat" category. And after Saturday night, I'm still waiting to see if we are going to be good enough this year to possibly record any of those quality wins. MDZip
Pretty weird though, Valpo is also 2-1 with the #3 SOS, but is ranked 63rd.

ZachTheZip
Fun with small sample sizes! Come on. Let us enjoy it while it lasts. For a few days, at least, we can the Zips are a top-ten calibre team. Now, next season we might be able to say that all season long and not be lying once our secret weapons join the team. Dave in Green
Fun with small sample sizes! For DIG, There's Lies, Damned Lies and then Statistics. Good memory, Hilltopper. We go through the "RPI is nuts" discussion every year: Lordy, how I love RPI. So William & Mary is now up from #7 in the country to #2. Well, here's what I think of RPI. If William & Mary is the second best team in the country, then Harvard is #1 because they beat William & Mary. What an amazing country we live in! I love the conversation here. But any time RPI is introduced in a thread, it makes me want to dance and sing and throw my keyboard and mouse high in the air that a saying I learned in school a half century ago is still valid: There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics. I can recall scores of All-Ohio HS stars, incoming transfers and non-qualifiers who have been labeled "can't miss," and "program-changers." Transfers from Big 10 programs, BCS-level talent that "slipped through the cracks" and landed on the Zips laps. I can't recall any panning out in any program-altering way. Andy Hipsher... Derrick Tarver... Marco Morgan... Johnny Hollingsworth... John Carson... the list of messiahs is long. There's a reason Treadwell and Harney, both possessing undeniable, elite basketball talent, only played 1 year of high school ball each. My old man advice - enjoy what you have today. "Potential" just means you haven't done it.
The Hip Zip
I love seeing that so much I took a screen shot ! I think you took it too seriously; I meant it playfully. Besides, Akron won 2 of 3 from Ohio last year. Easy could've been 3 of 3.
