ZachTheZip
He's gone. Time to start looking for a new DC. UA has even removed the video posted yesterday of him talking about our recruiting class presumably to keep negative comments from showing up, or perhaps out of spite since it's simple enough to disable comments. Unfortunately, it seems that some people associated with the football program were caught unaware by the news. It's generating some bad will. johnnyzip84
Nice work, Dr Z! I think it would make sense for a number of reasons: 1) He's got a lot of experience as a DC (Northwestern, Colorado, Illinois) and his defenses were mostly pretty good. 2) Hiring someone quickly would allow the guy to maximize his impact on spring ball. One negative is that iCoach would probably need to hire a special teams coordinator to replace "the Stache"

InTheZone
Former Zip OC Jim Pry leaves Dartmouth Sounds like he was doing a pretty good job. Must've had an insecure head coach.
Hilltopper
Maybe DiG can do some DiGging and see about this. Green city schools are in turmoil and they might be forced to drop athletics or go pay-to-play. Their coach is Tom Stacy and he might be forced out to save on the budget. That's who I'm hearing that we're currently pursuing. One of our 2011 recruits, Dylan Brumbaugh, hails from Green. Stacy knows the university, being our QB coach for 8 years. He knows the area, and he knows the local prospects. Green Schools are not "in turmoil", but we are trying to pass a new levy. If the levy doesn't pass there will be some cuts of teaching positions. Tom Stacy is a Phys-ed teacher at the high school. Phys-ed is a required course, you have to take it in order to graduate. Most likely, the teaching positions that are eliminated will be for elective courses not required for graduation. He could possibly be bumped by someone with more tenure, but the other 2 phys-ed teachers currently have less tenure than Stacy. I guess its possible that Stacy mat want to get back into coaching at the collegiate level, but I haven't heard anything that would make me think that was true. Stacy has worked hard to improve Green's football program and the results of those labors are just starting to pay off. I would be surprised if he left, but anything is possible. I'll check around and see if there is any truth to this rumor and report back. ps; I find it humorous that every time I use spell check on a quoted post involving Zac, it wants me to change Zach's name to Schlep! Tom Stacy announced today, that he is resigning from his position at Green HS to accept a position at Ashland University. He will be rejoining his former mentor Lee Owens. ZachTheZip
Wish we could have brought in Stacy as a position coach. In other news, We have learned that Akron offensive grad assistant Jeff Blasko has accepted the same position on Will Muschamp's staff at Florida. ZachTheZip
@ZipsFB: I would like to introduce Kim McCloud to the Zips Coaching staff (defensive backs). I am excited to have Kim on our staff! McCloud previously coached at Baylor. He played college ball for Hawaii.

I'm sure glad for Vince's sake, we don't run the 3-3-5 anymore On the other hand, it would greatly reduce his time looking at film
