Zipmeister
I think I am going to add "work rate" to my list of favorite expressions. It's not as good as "price point," but it's close.
ZachTheZip
Mattocks announced on Facebook that he's going to Portugal. Don't know if it's temporary or if he was offered a better deal than the MLS to go pro. My Jamaican internet lingo is a little rusty. Don't know if it's temporary or if he was offered a better deal than the MLS to go pro. My Jamaican internet lingo is a little rusty. He mentioned that in a post Sunday evening. I believe he was just talking about playing as them in the FIFA Video game and saying how Portugal is his fav. team. I am fluent in Patois by the way. *EDIT* I asked him to be sure. Yeah, that's what he was talking about. That and visiting next year after he leaves. It seems he's convinced that going to Europe after here is a strong possibility. You did have me scared for a second when I first read this thread though. He is definitely .not leaving though (at least that's what he claims). Btw check out http://www.translationdirectory.com/dictio...ctionary023.htm , it will help with Darren's posts lol

I was tipped off by a thread on Big Soccer saying that he was leaving to Europe, which led me to his Facebook post, which I clearly misinterpreted. I don't think you misinterpreted it as much as he used some bad wording. He definitely is interested in going over there, but he was talking about after next season, at least according to him. 72 Roo
Isn't he supposed to be in class now? If our team has a GPA of near 3.5, i bet it's safe to say he isn't exactly at the top end of the spectrum if he's taking this much time away from class. Or does he make it up in the summer? jem101
Due to the fact that Mattocks and Soony Saad of Michigan were the two highest scoring freshmen last year, I thought this was a good fit for this topic. Mattocks was second highest scoring freshmen this year behind Saad of the University of Michigan. Saad announced today on Soccer by Ives that he will be pursuing a pro career in Europe. All I have to say is I'm glad this happened to UM and not Akron. Hopefully Mattocks continues his goal scoring ways next year.

Since both Mattocks and Saad were not offfered GA contracts, did this mean MLS thought them inferior?

Since both Mattocks and Saad were not offfered GA contracts, did this mean MLS thought them inferior? Both Saad and Mattocks were considered unproven commodities by the MLS, and not just because they were freshman. Kitchen was also a freshman, but one with a sizable backlog of video with the national team. Generation Adidas is only available to can’t miss prospects, and really the type of deal no one should ever turn down. Should Mattocks clock another productive year @ Akron, he may go GA as well. Mattocks made the right decision to return to Akron. What Saad is attempting is dicey. I still have very high hopes for Soony Saad as a member of the USMNT. I hereby withdraw my odious prediction of a 2011 Wolverines’ championship.
