Buckzip Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 Even though they will eventually have to return the trophy along with Scam's Heisman, I'm taking Auburn. Oregon has the weakest SOS ever to appear in the NCG. Oregon runs a gimmicky type offense which was shut down in the Rose Bowl last year. When you have a month to prepare for a gimmick, it gives you a much better shot. Scam Newton will be the key. If he plays as usual, he will dominate. Quote
GP1 Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 I'll go out on a limb as well and say that Newton is the key and Auburn will win. I don't even think the game will be close. Newton is the best college football player I've seen in quite a while. Asking for only $180K was under-selling his ability. He is worth far more. Quote
Valpo Zip Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 Auburn in a "not even close" game. Auburn vs TCU would have been a much better NC game to watch. Quote

Kangaroo Craig Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 I believe Auburn will win as well, but the game will be much closer than many think. Don't forget that Stanford lost their only game against the Ducks who beat them by about 20 or so points. Oregon doesn't have the flush that Auburn has, but they are a very physical team that can wear their opponents down. The Tigers will be feeling a lot of bumps and bruises after this game. Browns rookie T.J. Ward played on this team last year. He is a good representation of the current state of Oregon football. Quote
Kangaroo Craig Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 I meant to say flush, not flush. Typo. Quote

MDZip Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 I meant to say flush, not flush. Typo. If you didn't know there is a site filter that will not allow you to type f.l.a.s.h or K.e.n.t. unless you do something like put periods in between like I did. Most of the time it's amusing, occasionally it gets in the way. Quote
K92 Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 I think Auburn will make it five in a row for the SEC. I think Oregon's offensive line will be manhandled. Don't think the Ducks can stop Newton. Hoping for a good game. They (media) have certainly hyped it enough. Quote
Wally B Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 I'm rooting for the Ducks! Hopefully they've got enough teamwork to derail Cam Newton. Quote
plowerman78 Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 im rooting for oregon in this one but i feel Auburn will win by 3 scores atleast Quote
Buckzip Posted January 9, 2011 Author Report Posted January 9, 2011 im rooting for oregon in this one but i feel Auburn will win by 3 scores atleast I agree. Scam is a stud. Auburn has over a month to prep for the Duck offense. I hope I'm wrong though. Quote
Let'sGoZips94 Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 I have the Ducks. I don't think Auburn is as good as the SEC has to offer on defense; they may be the best offensive team in the SEC, but not defensively IMO. LaMichael James it the quickest, fastest, and most explosive little running back in the nation. Oregon's offensive tempo will give Auburn some problems. I also hope one of the fast defensive players for Oregon blitzes and DESTROYS SCam Newton. I hope the money his "dad" got gets used for medical reasons, but that he can still finish the game and lose. Quote
RootforRoo44 Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 I think it would be better for College Football if Auburn lost, considering their title could be rescinded...though I don't know if that's going to happen. Quote

I'm shocked if that's the lowest ever. Quote
GP1 Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 It's January 10th and championship game is tonight. There is something wrong with how late it is being played. No college football should take place after the NFL playoffs have started. Quote
johnnyzip84 Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 Waiting until the last minute, I'm going against the ZN grain to predict a Duck victory. Oregon 48 Auburn 38 I don't think the "Blur" is really a gimmick offense. It's just a fast version of the spread, run by a team that wants as many possessions as possible because it thinks it is BETTER than you. We'll soon see if they're justified in their attitude out there tonight. Quote
InTheZone Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 Auburn 37 Oregon 20 Cam Newton 195 passing yards, 1 TD, 145 rushing yards, 2 TD Quote
Big Zip Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 Does iCoach watch a game like tonight and think to himself these guys are doing it all wrong....they should be running a pro style offense. Especially that Oregon team they are lucky then won one game playing like that. Quote
