ZachTheZip
Can anybody get the press conference streaming? On the page it says I need to subscribe, and there's no way I'm paying to see this. Edit: never mind. The link is up now.

Hopefully they're just running a bit late. I was afraid I was having a glitch & missing it altogether. Same thing here. "Please Stand By" Terrible. Just terrible quality. Was just about to post the same. I can't really hear anything at all. It fades in & out & for some reason repeats the same 3 second clips 2 or 3 times. So I really hope they're recording this and will have it available for viewing at a later time. I'm really not getting anything understandable from this feed. Blue & Gold
My feed is completely dead and it's gone back to "Please Stand By" again. I shut it down. I sure hope they offer this for viewing at a later date.
ZachTheZip
I've never understood why we don't switch to UStream for events like this and live games. Maybe in the future we will, like how we finally switched all our pre-recorded media to Youtube. Speaking of youtube, maybe the presser will show up on there sometime tonight where we can watch it in somewhat decent quality.
GP1
We all see how this community supports a team that works hard. (Notice how I didn't say a winner). What hard working team do they support that doesn't win? No one's expecting them to got 13-0 and win the MAC. They don't have to a pull a soccer team and win national titles, but like the 03-05 teams people came to see them. Yes they won more than they lost, but I wouldn't exactly call a winner, except for 05 of course. If the athletic department is willing to give away tickets to the games the way they were in those years, I'm sure you are right and people will turn out. I don't want to have to give away tickets to games. If we are back to giving away tickets, we have done absolutely nothing during our 20 year "building process". The athletic department functions on money and it needs a lot of it to just break even. Winning a lot is the only way they will be able to get people to BUY tickets. There is support for a team, and then there is meaningful support. Freeloaders are not providing meaningful support.
Lee Adams
They better figure out a way to keep the real paying customers...the season ticket holders. At this level they will always have to do gimmicks to get a decent number of butts in the seats over an EXTENDED period of time. The big money comes from 'sacrifice' games and student fees. ZachTheZip
When he was on the radio, Ianello mentioned how this is the first year of a two year plan. If this is year 1, what was last year?
Zipmeister
When he was on the radio, Ianello mentioned how this is the first year of a two year plan. If this is year 1, what was last year? I think it has something to do with the Bible and the whole B.C.-A.D. thing. I'm not certain, however, as I do not have the same Notre Dame experience as icoach.
Zipgrad01
This class was extremely heavy on lineman, which isn't surprising. I think (i hope) that Ianello realizes that linemen are the foundation of the program. I have a feeling that "year 2" is building even more lineman depth and focusing on the skill players. Great linemen make marginal skill players look better than they really are.
K92
Hopefully we made some good gets that will be able to come in and contribute right away. Rivals doesn't seem to think this class is anything special...ranked tied for sixth. Not sure their rating expertise means much of anything. They have Can't ranked third with their class which includes one 3* recruit. Really? How do they figure?

Rivals.com MAC recruiting class rankings And having Can't 3rd doesn't make any sense. They only signed one 3-star player. I think quantity over quality plays into the Rivals rankings. Edit: No, I take that back. Not only did we sign more recruits than Can't (23-18) but we signed more 3-star recruits as well (4-1) and have a higher average star-rating than they do (2.17-2.06). It makes no sense. Rivals sucks.
Zipgrad01
I really like a lot of the video that I saw. He looks like he recruited athletic kids with good frames. They LOOKED like college players. Our typical recruits look like high school kids even after they get here.

It's a shame that I, most likely, won't be around the Akron area to check them out next year.
gozips19
this is all a crap shoot but so far i am happy as the staff is doing what they said they were going to do. and to get a top notch kid like rossi is really impressive. normally when you see a 4 star kid coming to akron he never saw the field. this will be different. can't wait to see this kid next to wagner!!!!! (no way they waste him on O). lots of depth lots of depth. good balance with juco kids. hopefully they can be impact players from the jump. any word on the kid from glenville that was supposed to transfer? any body see anything on anderson? just curious as all. thanks! ZachTheZip
The full press conference is up on gozips.com to watch. ABJ article. Matt Rodgers graduated and has left the team. Dylan Potts is being moved to WR. That's why we signed 3 QBs and why D'Orazio will be tried at QB before we decide if he should play as a DB. FBJunkie
Had insomnia this morning so I looked at some details of this years recruiting class - the whole class had a total of 11 offers - with 16 players receiving no other offers except Akron. For a frame of reference, Toledo's class had a total of 58 offers. So we have the best facilities in the MAC and a recruiting genius who could probably recruit Rush Limbaugh to join the democratic party , and this is his first full recruiting class. With the investment made in the facilities as well as what we are paying this coaching staff - I expect a LOT more.... Sorry - not impressed.
