I want the guy to succeed but he has been a disaster and it's hard to see him turning this thing around. My worst fear is that he'll "improve" to 3 or 4 wins a year - just enough to keep him from getting fired - and we'll be stuck with him until his contract runs out.

Ianello could lose every game this year and he will still be the coach. Unless some rich booster comes up with the money to pay the remainder of his contract, we are stuck with him. UA does not have the money to get rid of him. Its a classic Catch-22 situation.

That's how I feel. That's why I don't waste too much time thinking about it.

The only way out before the fourth year of Ianello's way-too-long-of-a-contract is a concerted effort by the fans.There are two breaking points: Either the din grows so loud that it can't be ignored, or the silence grows so deafening that somebody in charge acts to save their job. Since Wistrcill appears content to let things keep going the way they are, only the first option will make a difference before it's too late.We need signs, we need to leave comments on every story printed about the football program, we need to make it clear that we won't just sit back and accept what is happening. Because if there's no outcry, their egos will take it as approval for what they are doing.

Browns fans have been doing this for years. How is that working out? They have big egos, but they are also smart enough to see an empty stadium and understand there is a problem.The time you spend making signs could be better spend doing just about anything else.

@ZachTheZip, follow the money. When ticket sales, sponsorship packages and alumni donations drop far enough, the message will have been delivered and received in a way that an infinite number of signs and internet comments could never approach.

I would be stressed too if my job performance stunk like Ianello's. College coaching is a high risk high reward field full of stressors. Some can cut it, some excel, and way more fail. He is compensated handsomely for his time and he lobbied for more money in his assistant pool. More resources dedicated to the program means higher expectations therefore higher stress when things go south. Some coaches can turn to facilities, budgets, and/or lack of general support for their athletics from upper management as excuses when their performance suffers. I will continue to criticize Coach Ianello because ducks have been lined up for success yet the on field performance is awful. The team is worse off today than three years ago...bottom line.

Perhaps Lebron's boy Terrel Pryor and KD can convince Lebron to pay out iCoach and bring in Tressel since that is Pryor's guy and we know Lebron loved OSU.
