Captain Kangaroo
If it is possible for an out of towner to get in on the action, I will drink a Charleston Lager from Palmetto Brewing Company at lunch while I am in Charleston this coming Saturday. Out-of-Town rules are as follows - To qualify for a listed "Tailgate" beer, said beer must be drank - #1 - On a Zips Game Day #2 - Pre-, during or Post-game (1hr post-game limit) #3 - While somehow participating in a Zips Game Day festivity, including but not limited to - a.) Actively reading ZipsNation (ie. a Game Day thread) b.) Watching the Zips on TV or Webcast c.) Listening to Frenchy IMPORTANT: In the event no form of Zips contact is available, you can bypass 3a, 3b and 3c by saying "Gerry Faust" before your 1st sip, or uttering a minimum of one full sentence in an audible "Gerry Faust Voice." Note -- Rules #1 and #2 still apply. Note - These rules only apply to individuals living outside of reasonable driving distance to a Zips home game. "Locals" are expected to be drinking in a parking lot!

You are far more liberal with your rules than I would have been. I would have set up an out of town accrual account and then transfered beers to strengthen my balance sheet if need at the end of the season. I would like to motion the board to allow for a participant to either say Gerry Faust OR allow said participant to say something in his Gerry Faust voice. However, saying Gerry Faust in your Gerry Faust voice would not allow for extra credit.

K92
I've got my beers ready to go for Saturday, but need some food help. I want to have a shrimp feast, but need some help from someone with a marinade recipe and I also will need lots of help eating them because I'm flying solo again. Anybody? Good choice for the warm weather. I know you won't have much trouble finding people to help you eat them! While I don't have a marinade recipe (I usually just go with a feel), I would suggest any recipe that has olive oil, lime juice and hot pepper as a gage. I'm going with chicken/veggie fajitas myself. RowdyZip
Myself and a few friends will be setting up a meager tailgate in 34 Saturday morning. It will be an all Yuengling affair (Yuengling, Yuengling Light, Lord Chesterfield). Will confirm here Saturday.

Add some sugar or honey, garlic powder and salt to Johnny's three ingredients above, and you are in good shape. If you have no lime, go with a vinegar. My hot pepper choice is Sriracha. Dr Z
Where can I get Bakalar Doppelbock ?? I want to give it a try. Got a real charge out of meeting CK and you. Looking forward to another game.I got Bakalar Doppelbock at Twinsburg Beverage Beer Wine on Darrow Rd. I'm skipping out this week, can't resist the weather for a weekend of camping in the Allegheny Mountains. I'll send my ticket to Lot 9 with CK, so if you don't have a ticket, the guy that gets the most beers off the list by game time is the winner. I must confess this did not take place. It's a sad story of a guy in Charleston, on a carriage tour, with his wife and 10 tourists. I'm sure nobody wants to hear about it. Captain Kangaroo
The soccer team out-scored the Zips Tailgate Drinking Team last weekend. For shame... Next thing you know, Zach will be posting a poll calling for my Lot 9 ouster.

K92
Johnny and Captain, Right about now, you 2 are at the top of my Christmas card list. I took your advice and found a recipe online that had your ingredients (and a few more) in it. Just got done putting it all together and WOW is that some good s. That Sriracha chili sauce is killer. Can't wait til tomorrow. One more question though, marinate overnight or wait until tomorrow morning? I was wondering if the lime juice would turn the shrimp to rubber overnight or if it would be ok. I am doing 2 pounds with the lime juice recipe and 2 pounds with my regular chicken marinade with bacon wrap. Thanks, guys.

JZ84 is correct - Seafood isn't as robust as pork or beef...if you marinate shrimp or scallops overnight, they'll turn to mush. 1/2 hour is all the marinating time it needs before going on the grill. Great. Thanks again. After the letdown of my power source quitting on me at the Temple game, I will finally have satellite tv again. I bought a small generator. So I got that goin' for me, which is nice. See you tomorrow.
