mes102
The part that I thought was interesting is the confidence Alex Allen has at their practices that he won't be brought down. He's wearing no pads, and he told the players to try and tackle him...
mes102
I was going through that site, and found this little bit on a different article:"In NFL action, the Bengals play host to San Francisco on Sunday. When the 49ers finish that game, they won't head back to the West Coast. Instead, the club will stay in Youngstown. Multiple sources are telling MyValleySports.com that San Francisco plans to use Youngstown State's facilities to practice. The team plays in Philadelphia the following Sunday and would prefer not to make the travel to the East Coast consecutive weeks."With the great facilities we have, why can't the 49ers use our facilities? Dave in Green
Alex clearly has a lot of heart. I hope he finds success somewhere, and I hope the Zips find more players like him. Also, I hope someone at UA notices what the 49ers are doing and gets a little proactive about marketing Infocision Stadium. DeBartlo's are big in Youngstown, as is noted in the previous post. If they aren't using the stadium, they will be using the WATTS which is nearing completion, 98% complete. Worth noting the DeBartolo's joined Jim Tressel and Anthony Cafaro in donating to the $12 million facility:

The only thing worse is to build a great new stadium. Welcome to the abyss.

Dr Z
One, crummy scheduling by the NFL. Two, I feel sorry for the 49'ers. Three, I'm using this information to bet the Eagles in two weeks.
