AKRON, Ohio — Authorities say the body of someone who apparently committed suicide was found at a college football stadium in Ohio, hours before a game was to kick off. Gregg Bach, a spokesman for the University of Akron football team, says the body was discovered Saturday morning and that university police have concluded their investigation. He didn't say where in the stadium the body was found or who found it. University spokeswoman Laura Massey says police have told her the death appears to be a suicide. She gave no further details. University police did not immediately return phone calls. Akron is to play Ohio at 3 p.m. Eastern on Saturday. Bach says the game will be played as scheduled.

OK, so it wasn't Ianello.**edit** (not trying to sound offensive, someone on facebook was spreading a rumor that a coach or paid member of the staff was involved...obviously not true)

Really inappropriate to joke about something like this. The victim was in full army uniform; he was scheduled to be deployed to Afghanistan and ended his life very tragically. Tears and prayers for his family. The person who asked if it was the coach should be ashamed of himself.
Very sad if true, although I'm not sure "victim" applies here.

Victim is always the appropriate term for an untimely death. In this case, a suicide victim died at their own hands due to a mental defect of some sort, whether it be mental illness or depression. Still a victim...

OMG. This is horrible. I hadn't heard any of this until I just now read this thread. I wonder why he chose Infocision Stadium...was it a good place for him?

Put me in this camp.

Personally, I think anyone should be able to check out any time they chose. But if you do it to yourself, then the only way that you are a "victim" is if you are also the perpetrator. heh.

You can look it up. Victim (noun) One who applies long-run solutions to a short-run problems.
That's not the dictionary definition, but while I disagree with you, I can appreciate and respect your viewpoint. The victims to me are the people this person left behind who now must search for answers, while likely being emotionally scarred for the remainder of their lives. We can agree to disagree though.

Attention. This is a non-story to us if he did it inside his home.
idk about non-story, but it wouldn't be nearly as big.

Inside his home = small article on Ohio.comAt the stadium = Yahoo, CNN, ESPN, and most national media outletsI don't know why he did it, but the location was most certainly selected to bring attention to it.
