ZipperRoo44 Posted December 17, 2011 Author Report Posted December 17, 2011 7-7 now 2 minutes in. A KO return for TD, two interceptions, spread offense v power running. Should be a great game to watch. Quote
johnnyzip84 Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 Warriors take opening kickoff back for TD, 7-0. Warriors get INT on first defensive play. Big Mo for PW! Handed the Mo right back with their own INT and subsequent Pitt St score. 7-7. Looks like it will be a real challenge to slow Pitt St on offense. Quote
Dr Z Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 I gave it a try, I lasted about 7 minutes. Good luck to PW. Quote
ZipperRoo44 Posted December 17, 2011 Author Report Posted December 17, 2011 I gave it a try, I lasted about 7 minutes. Good luck to PW. 10-7 - wild game so far. Defense is flying around for both sides. Offenses look a bit nervous. Special teams are kamikaze for both sides. Reminding me a lot of early 2000's Zip football. Quote
Blue & Gold Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 Two badly underthrown interceptions from WSU's QB. I like PW's sideline demeanor. He doesn't berate his players. Very calm & in control. Unflappable. You can tell he's a teacher of the game. Very much a demeanor like Jim Tressel or Mike krzyzewski. Quote
Blue & Gold Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 I gave it a try, I lasted about 7 minutes. Well, from what I hear that's a good 5-minutes longer than Zipmeister lasts. Quote
ZipperRoo44 Posted December 17, 2011 Author Report Posted December 17, 2011 Warriors on the march Quote
johnnyzip84 Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 Nice, powerful drive to take back the lead and calm the team down. 14-10 WSU Quote
ZipperRoo44 Posted December 17, 2011 Author Report Posted December 17, 2011 Touchdown Warriors. Nice drive for the Wayne State offense. 11 plays, 85 yards, over 5 minutes in length and the game settles into more of a rhythm. On to the 2nd quarter with WSU leading 14-10. Quote
ZipperRoo44 Posted December 17, 2011 Author Report Posted December 17, 2011 ESPN's Dan Hawkins just used the terms confident, poised, in control to describe Paul Winters. When was the last time those adjectives were used around Akron Football? Quote

Blue & Gold Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 TD WSU. Again, I love PW's sideline demeanor. He knows there's a ton of game left & his demeanor is essentially as cool & calm after the TD as it was after each of the two INT's. *ESPN commentator, Dan Hawkins, just noted PW's demeanor: "Just love his demeanor. Very calm, very poised. Classy guy. Very much in control. Knows what the Warriors are all about and obviously has this group marching in-step with his philosophy." (No, my recall isn't that quick. I rewound my dvr.) Quote
Hilltopper Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 Warriors on the march Don't you mean the Lions? Quote

MDZip Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 Wow, what a tough turn of events for Wayne State. About to score a touchdown, have to settle for a field goal, blocked and returned for a touchdown. 20-14 Pittsburg. Quote
Doug Snyder Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 Wow, what a tough turn of events for Wayne State. About to score a touchdown, have to settle for a field goal, blocked and returned for a touchdown. 20-14 Pittsburg. We will get to see how he handles a little adversity Quote

johnnyzip84 Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 Getting away from WSU. Will be tough for them to comeback in the 2nd half. Wouldn't be surprised to see an onside kick to start the 2nd half. Quote
Blue & Gold Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 It's good to see that PW does not keep his playsheet stuffed down the front of his pleated khaki's. Quote
Blue & Gold Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 Uh oh. Blocked punt. If Pittsburgh State scores here it would take a 4th quarter miracle for WSU to pull off the comeback. Quote
