33Akrondad7
One or two at the very most. We may even be full now. It's hard to say who is on scholarship and who is walking on.My son is walking on this year. Will he get a chance at a scolly this year or next? I really dont know the process. I only know his first day of eligibility is June 1.
Dr Z
My son is walking on this year.Congratulations. Many success stories have started this way. Clay Matthews, Michael Strahan, Terrell Owens, Mike Schneck, Jordy Nelson, Aeneas Williams, Darren Woodson, Scott Fujita, Santana Moss. JJ Watt!?! I only know his first day of eligibility is June 1. All depends upon who quits...how many "Jawon Chisholm's" and "Dennis Kennedy's" drop in our lap in mid-summer...etc. And of course, if he's evaluated to be good enough to merit one. I wish him the best.

I only know his first day of eligibility is June 1. It depends on how he performs. There is always a chance. Every parent and player should understand that going from walk-on to scholarship is a low percentage opportunity. It is a huge time commitment for no pay. "Do, or do not. Highlight below http://www.hudl.com/athlete/406438/anthony-lauro Thanks for the info. That helps clear up some uncertainty about our scholarship situation this year. Lauro is an exciting player to watch. Hopefully everything goes well for him. I wonder if greyshirting a bunch of players until the spring will become a thing under Bowden. Certainly appears that way.
Foezono
Thanks for the tip. How's his knee rehab going?Knee rehab is going great, he's running (1/2 speed), catching passes, weightlifting, doing latter drills and box jumps. He has no pain in his knee, but still too early to cut on. His doctor is also the doc for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Anthony was in Akron for an official visit last weekend and had a great time. K92
I'm not sure I can offer any educated scuttlebutt, but I am very curious to see how we make these numbers jibe. It certainly looks like the staff has made some very solid additions to this class here in the 11th hour and hopefully they will all fax a signed letter. I am certainly a little more at ease than I was a few weeks ago, when I was sweating like Waldo in the Hot for Teacher video.
LZIp
My educated guess, there are some players that sat out last year that will never play a down for the Zips, and some of these players will be greys-hirted and count on the scholly limit next season. Had scholarship pulled by Cincinnati (Tuberville is burning Ohio-centric recruiting bridges like no other), then committed to Can't State. Had a change of heart, and now he's coming here instead. Smart man. A 3-star recruit on both Scout and ESPN.
