RowdyZip Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 Wednesday night on tv? Just over 3k. Win out through the bracket buster and Joe MAY start to care. Quote
alexopats@yahoo.com Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 I heard numerous people talking about the game while at the Rec today, so I expect a pretty good crowd personally. Word is spreading about the team. Quote

Wednesday night against a .500 MAC West opponent? 3k might be the best we can hope for. Most "Joe Akrons" might still thinks we play in the same division as Mount Union until we can start getting some votes in that Top 25 poll. Quote

Blue & Gold Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 i'd say about 4k That would be great. Sadly, I'm going to guess more in the range of 2,500. Quote
Big Zip Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 I'm guessing 2,679 will be in attendance. This is definitely one of those games that scares me -- one where Akron teams traditioanlly come out flat. I'm hoping this team can get away from that consistent behavior by Zips teams of the past and route all these games agains the West to set up a nice meeting with Oral Roberts. Quote

Lower level 80%, upper sidelines 60%, upper endzones 25%, student section: average... 2864 Quote
mes102 Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 I would love to go to every single game as a student; however, I can't go to majority of the games. I coach basketball and majority of our games are on wednesdays and saturdays. So it's hard for me to catch any games usually...been able to catch a few, show up after halftime for a few after coming from practice, and so forth...but it's just hard...so in some cases, there are people that care, just can't make it due to other obligations... which is why i would guess that a Televised, weekday, game will get between 2-3K... WinZip Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 Last year on Wednesday, February 9 @ 7:00PM 2,826 fans showed up to support our Zips. I think this years squad is 300 fans more exciting at least. I'll put my guess at 3,126. I'll be content with anything over 3,000 happy with anything over 3,500 think something is wrong with 4,000+ Quote
Dave in Green Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 Last year on Wednesday, February 9 @ 7:00PM 2,826 fans showed up to support our Zips. ..... I'm not 100% sure on this, but I believe that UA counts basketball attendance the same way as football attendance, i.e. tickets sold plus student ID cards scanned vs. butts in seats. If so, then the announced attendance would be greater than the number of fans who actually showed up due to the fact that a number of season ticket holders do not show up for every game but would be counted in paid attendance at every game. GalleyBoy Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 They won't announce less than 3000. Quote
WinZip Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 I suppose I am predicting the announced attendence then? I may lose hundreds of dollars in my attendance betting now… I’ll go somewhere between medium empty and medium full… Quote
Blue & Gold Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 I'll go somewhere between medium empty and medium full… With a 50% chance of rain. Quote

Dave in Green Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 I think the only thing we can go by is official announced attendance, unless someone wants to take the time to count individual butts in seats, and I'm not volunteering for that. Just be prepared for the actual crowd to be somewhat smaller than the announced crowd depending on the number of season ticketholder no-shows Quote
msopher Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 I'll be there rooting for my Rockets! Quote

There is an old saying that there is no I in team. Well it's equally true that there is no T in agains. Quote
