bigsix0
The NCAA games in Columbus are at Nationwide Arena, which is not the home of the Buckeyes. Ohio State can not play there because they are the host school. If there were another Div I school in Columbus, they could host and Ohio State would be eligible to play there. Not sure of the host in Pittsburgh this year, but in the past, Duquesne has hosted and Pitt could play in Pittsburgh.
akronad
CBS Sports has us as a 14 vs. Baylor in Albuquerque.
bigzipguy
A 14 seed vs Baylor in their own back yard practically!!!! Bad for the Zips. Just like it was vs Gonzaga in Portland and vs ND in Chicago!!!
Dave in Green
Even with the ORU loss, Live RPI this morning has the Zips right back at #61 -- same as before the ORU game. If the Zips win the rest of their games, their RPI should rise up close to #50. depending on what happens to teams ahead of them. That may be enough to earn them a #13 seed. If the Zips lose any more games, they probably lose any chance of moving up beyond a #14.
akronad
Mississippi St. isn;t helping us. In fact here is a quote from CBS Sports: "Mississippi State is also falling apart at the wrong time. The Bulldogs lost three in a row, including games to non-tournament teams Georgia and Auburn. Those are their worst losses of the season."
wadszip
A 14 seed vs Baylor in their own back yard practically!!!! Bad for the Zips. Just like it was vs Gonzaga in Portland and vs ND in Chicago!!! Albuquerque is more than 700 miles from Waco. Obviously, still a lot closer than Akron, but not close enough where Baylor fans are going to pack the building. It doesn't really matter though, the projected opponent and venue will change five more times from now to Selection Sunday.
MDZip
A 14 seed vs Baylor in their own back yard practically!!!! Bad for the Zips. Just like it was vs Gonzaga in Portland and vs ND in Chicago!!! The NCAA also "protects" the top four seeds by allowing them to play closer to home. Since the Zips have drawn top 4 seeds, that's why they always seem to play a "road" game.
bigzipguy
Still a 14 seed, but back to playing Marquete in Nashville

Spin
Jerry Palm has Akron the 15 seed in the West, playing tOSU in the first round. Which is NC's bracket. http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/bracketology Lunardi has us #59, which should put us against #5 Michigan St, right? Or do the regions skewer all that? I think I'd rather have the Bucks in the first round, and keep them from hitting from the arc.

We would have EVERYTHING to gain from that game. No game would get the Zips more emotionally aggressive. The Rowdies can dress up like JT in Akron vests. MDZip
Andy Bottoms of Fox Sports Predicts 14 seed playing Marquette in Louisville. That may be a subversive move since that subregional is actually being played in Pittsburgh. We'd have to drop to a 15 or 16 seed to play in Louisville. MDZip
Ive started to root for more middle of the conference teams to win their conference tournaments, like WKU and Detroit (except for the MAC of course). I figure the more that sneak in like that, the more likely they are to be lower seeded and maybe raise the Zips up a line. Like the projected WAC winner, Nevada. is a seed line above us. So say a 4th seed Utah State WAC Conference title would probably help us. Anything to help give us a little more of an advantage. The Zips have to keep up their end of the bargain of course.
