I had no idea CJ was voted as a captain. Best of luck to him.

Losing a team captain has to be a devastating loss for the program. I just hope it doesn't have a ripple effect on the women's swim team.

Heard that the Zips may have a walk-on replacement for Oldham -- Darius Hoisten, a 6-5 forward out of Garfield HS. Hoisten averaged 17 points and 10 rebounds a game his senior season. Don't know anything about him other than that he has been seen in open practices with the Zips. If true, welcome aboard, Darius!

We used to play them back when we were a Div II independent.

They were usually pretty good.

I used to live in Erie and Gannon is a decent D2 school, member of the PSAC. They made a nice run a few year back and I believe they were close to the final 4. Jodi Kest actually coached their women's team before being hired by UA.

Similar to the commuter school UA used to be, just about 1/5 the size. You really don't get a sense of being on campus, just seemed like a few buildings mixed in with normal downtown businesses. Small gym that seats about 3000, but are usually one of the top 1-2 teams in the conference as far as attendance.

Hmmm, CJ Oldham or Pat Forsythe?

I think I take my chances with Forsythe...

CJ probably isn't listed on Gannon's roster since he hasn't set foot in a class there, same as our "new" young man".

In addition, his name may not appear on their roster because it's LAST YEAR'S roster.

A Mechanical Engineering major, Oldham owns a 3.68 cumulative grade point average after completing 133 credits towards his degree. A PSAC Scholar-Athlete, Oldham received the NCAA Division II Athletics Directors Association (ADA) Academic Achievement Award last season. The senior forward was also named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court, reserved for junior and senior varsity players with at least one year of residency at their current school and a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the academic year.
