Gcc Posted November 10, 2012 Report Posted November 10, 2012 Nah...but they're the only excuse we can use now. When you are missing this many key players people are forced to play out of their natural position/rotation. Quote
Captain Kangaroo Posted November 10, 2012 Report Posted November 10, 2012 I see K.e.n.t. is up on Drexel by four. Certainly would be a quality win to start their season. Quote
ZipGrad93 Posted November 10, 2012 Report Posted November 10, 2012 McAdams stepping up. Save Betancourt's turnovers, the frosh have played pretty well... Quote
zipsfan13 Posted November 10, 2012 Report Posted November 10, 2012 Down 2 now? Tie game. 1 minute left. Quote
Gcc Posted November 10, 2012 Report Posted November 10, 2012 Tie game. 1 minute left. Tied 3.9 sec. CCU Ball Quote
Dr Z Posted November 10, 2012 Report Posted November 10, 2012 The next time I hear the word "coastal" followed by the word "Carolina," it will be too soon! Quote

ZipGrad93 Posted November 10, 2012 Report Posted November 10, 2012 Turnovers and missed free throws killed the Zips tonight. Quote
Valpo Zip Posted November 10, 2012 Report Posted November 10, 2012 We do that EVERY SINGLE FREAKIN YEAR...we talk the big talk and we can't walk the walk. Austin Peay, Valpo tournament, coastal carolina, etc... There will always be injuries and suspensions and whatever, you either come prepared to play or you don't. We never seem to be ready to start the season. Bad personnel decisions, missing loads of free throws and tons of turnovers. What does KD spend the pre season practice doing? Quote
tomzip Posted November 10, 2012 Report Posted November 10, 2012 Damnit Yeah, season is going to start very ugly..good experience for the two freshmen is the only bright spot. I have to think we may be cursed for such a promising year ahead after last year when we lose Diggs, and now the 3 game suspension. The at-large bid is lost as we lose to CCU and OSU early. Quote

Even without Tree and Harney, the Zips should've handled CCU. Poor performance all around. Quote
Quickzips Posted November 10, 2012 Report Posted November 10, 2012 As I said earlier. See you guys in Cleveland. That is what it comes down to again this year. Just like every year. I can't believe after a decade under Dambrot we still can't figure out how to beat mediocre mid-major programs early in the season. Unacceptable. Might as well sit Abreu for a few games and let him get his ankle back healthy. No need to rush him back for Puerto Rico other than to play in front of his hometown. Not like we are going in there trying to solidify our at-large resume. Quote

zipsfan13 Posted November 10, 2012 Report Posted November 10, 2012 This was such a nauseating performance tonight. Hopefully this team doesn't rely so heavily on three pointers the rest of the season. Quote

You will always be missing 2 core players due to a compliance screw-up (and find out 48 hours before the game) while having to start two true freshman? Quote

Agree 100%, this team will always get you 20 wins but no marquee wins, hence we really should just focus on the MAC tourny, unless Can't or OU does well we can expect 1 team as usual from the selection committee. With our usual start we can kiss our chances good bye Quote

Ever since I started following them, it seems like they can't finish consistently once they get to the basket. Quote

jjackson123 Posted November 10, 2012 Report Posted November 10, 2012 After everyone calms down tomorrow, I would love to hear sound reasoning from anyone suggesting that KD should be gone... and your answer has to include ideas for a replacement, because there is nobody in the country who is a better coach that would come here. KD is the best coach/ recruiter in the conference and loves Akron just as much as you and I. He has earned my patience Quote
