Sergeant Zip Posted December 15, 2012 Report Posted December 15, 2012 It's not a MAC coaching change, but ...FBS Coaching Carousel - per the NCAA. Click to their webpage to track all FBS coaching changes. Quote

Soon every MAC school will have one. " Um, we have had one for awhile. No love for Terry? Yeah, wait til he gets his own players in there. Quote

GP1 Posted December 15, 2012 Report Posted December 15, 2012 FBS Coaching Carousel - per the NCAA. Click to their webpage to track all FBS coaching changes. Good summary page. What I am always shocked by is the number of names that just move from place to place and fail. How does Skip Holtz keep getting coaching jobs? The best part of that guy ran down his dad's leg and somehow he keeps getting hired. Then again, he had some good years at ECU so maybe LA Tech is a good fit for him since it is CUSA. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted December 18, 2012 Report Posted December 18, 2012 Western Michigan hired a no-name WR coach who has studied under some impressive names but has no coaching or coordinator experience. You'd think they would learn from our mistakes. Can't State hired the guy who took Marshall from a MAC superpower to a C-USA scrub. Quote

zipsfan33 Posted December 18, 2012 Report Posted December 18, 2012 On the surface the hiring of Haynes doesn't look great, but somehow the statistics look a lot better than I remember OSU or Arkansas being. In 2011 OSU and the 19th ranked D in the nation?!? Another thing his bio lists him as a Can't Stater from 1987-1992...sounds about right...6 years to graduate? Did they do redshirting back then? Captain Kangaroo Posted December 18, 2012 Report Posted December 18, 2012 Paul Haynes never coached Marshall? It's just Zach being Zach. Quote
Sergeant Zip Posted January 11, 2013 Report Posted January 11, 2013 Here's a recap of Paul Haynes' staff at Can't State. Brian Rock (offensive coordinator / quarterbacks), Brian George (defensive line), and Jeff Burrow (safeties) were all retained. Ohio State defensive quality control Ben Needham (linebackers), Alcorn State running backs / tight ends coach Doc Gamble (wide receivers), Colorado State running backs coach Ted Bahur (running backs), Purdue offensive line coach Shawn Clark (offensive line), Arkansas assistant strength coach Antoine Sharp (head strength coach). It goes to show you that you can sometimes find a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, even in the most unlikely of circumstances. Quote

Blue & Gold Posted October 17, 2016 Report Posted October 17, 2016 (edited) I'm surprised they fired him in the middle of the season. Hazzell's a good coach, but Purdue is just a sucky job. The B1G is an interesting conference with some extremely powerful "haves," and some extremely weak "have nots." I hope Fleck is patient and picks a gig where he can be truly successful.
