As bad as we shot, we still won. Refs wouldn't let either team gain any momentum. Typical Mac refs with stupid fouls. Typical Akron Can't game. Ill take a win anyway I can get it. Especially over those hillbilly hippies. Also, on a side note, when did they start playing a really tall girl with a goatee. She was guarding zeke.

Zeke 17 points and 11 rebounds (8 offensive) and 4 blocks (all time leader in the MAC now), Treadwell 15 points and 17! rebounds (7 offensive) and welcome back Chauncey Gilliam (I know he had about 1 minuteagainst Ball State) with a nice 11 point game.

Good to see Chauncey get his shooting touch back. Hopefully his recent struggles were due to injury and he will return to his normal form.

The Rowdies were great at the game today. They put the Can't student section to shame. A great defensive performance by Zeke and Tree an the second half was the difference. Forsythe didn't play a single minute in the second half. One of these days this team is going to have a game where we can't miss from three. I pity the team we play that night.

That second half was so good that it actually made me glad to be on the Can't campus. Don't know if you could see it on TV, but they were laying all over Tree in the first half, bumping him and pushing him around. You could see his blood pressure rising, and we were afraid he was going to get a T. At one point near the end of the first half he pushed a Can't player away from him so hard that the guy landed about 12 feet away. Fortunately the refs didn't see that one. But that's what happens when the refs let one team run wild over another. The payback came in the second half when the Can't players were just as aggressive, but the refs started calling fouls they ignored in the first half and Can't got into foul trouble early. If the Zips could have hit their free throws, they could have taken over control of the game.

Instead, Tree focused his first half frustration into second half intensity and just took over. Tree and Zeke owned the boards in the second half. Can't outrebounded the Zips 26-20 in the first half, and the Zips outrebounded Can't 31-13 in the second half for a final 51-39 Zips advantage. That's the biggest rebounding turnaround from half to half I can recall seeing from the Zips. My biggest takeaway from this game (no cooties!) is that the Zips are so strong in so many areas that they can be off in a couple of major areas and still win against a tough rival on their homecourt. Opposing coaches have continually talked about how the Zips can beat you in so many different ways, and they did it today with rebounding, an area that hasn't been one of their strongest this season. It was great seeing Q there cheering on the Zips to a big conference road win.

Just got home from the game and had a great time. Akron dominated the boards in the 2nd half. You have to give our big guys credit. We could not shoot but we went after our misses the 2nd half like men possessed. I could not believe how many rebounds Tree pulled down. Our guys did not give up. It was nice watching Chauncy have a solid game after only playing a couple of minutes. The veterans really stepped up while our rookies looked like rookies.

Zeke played a lot of minutes and played hard the entire game. I wish we could go inside more to him because he dominated his man. He hit a couple of foul shots in the end that iced the game. He had to know he was going to get hammered on the intentional foul but he hung in like a man and went up strong for the dunk.

We gave up 2 offensive rebounds late in the game off of missed foul shots. That should never happen. One time we had only 3 men in the lane and I knew that was a mistake.

This team has won 9 straight and 2 on the road.

Go Zips!!
