With the season of the highest expectations ever at its peak, I am interested in knowing the reaction of the hardcore fans if, God forbid, things don't go our way.

I am not saying that things will not go well, but a risk analysis never hurts any one. So how would you react in the worst case scenario [edit: i.e: if we don't go dancing]?

Why on earth is this poll even up? Is this some type of morbid joke? Do you go around kicking puppies and stealing candy from babies when you get off of Zipsnation? This is ridiculous.

Can I vote for this as the stupidest poll ever produced in the middle of an 18 game winning streak?

But this isn't risk analysis.

In a risk analysis, you assess all of the potential problems that can happen.

The proposed topic simply asks how you will evaluate the reasons for it "not going our way".

First of all, that's only one potentiality.

Secondly, it's extremely vague; "things not going our way". How are we imagining this playing out? You can't analyse the reasons without even proposing an scenario. IE; losing certain regular season games, or losing certain games in the MAC tourney, or both.

So I will re-declare my objection.

Let's have this topic after the season is over, when it's over, however it ends.

Thanks.

My sincere apologies to those offended by the thread.

I want the Zips to win out, win the tournament, go dancing, and even win a few NCAA games as much if not more than the next guy. I also believe they have a good chance of doing that.

Risk analysis does not jinx your process or lead you to commit suicide. Risk analysis is the prediction of the consequences that may arise if the un-probable happened.

I apologize again for those whose feelings were hurt. Moderators can delete the thread if they see appropriate.

You're right Zen. My bad. I should have been more precise. What I meant by things not going our way is "if we didn't go dancing".

Unfortunately I don't think the MAC has the potential to be a 2-bid league anytime soon. The Zips will always be a team that starts the season slow, and loses a handful of games they shouldn't. Bad losses and a weak schedule end most of our seasons in disappointment. We are the best team in the MAC, but anything can happen in the tournament. Right now there are 12 teams in the MAC that all have the same likelihood of making the NCAA tournament. If they want to avoid it next season they need to start strong.

Other... This team is already on the map so winning the NIT won't do much. We would want to win the NIT because it is an opportunity to win more games presented to the team. Winners go out and win games.

This is all for nothing though. The team needs to stay focused....I don't. I don't see how this team loses the rest of the season and doesn't win the MAC. It would take a total collapse in my estimation and I don't think this team has that in them. They might have a bad game that requires them to win by a close margin, but to lose...no way.

@Ada Zip, I really appreciate you understanding the potential negative in this thread. Risk assessment is usually produced as proprietary information for internal business use. In the context of fans talking about their sports team on a public forum, it provides ammunition to our competitors' fan bases. For example, if I'm a Kitty fan reading this, I'm rotflmao on the Kitty forums that Zips fans are so insecure about their team that they're ignoring their own 18-game winning streak and focusing on the inevitable failure that awaits. There's a long off-season to discuss what went right and wrong with this season in its entirety and in actuality as opposed to in part with speculation.
