Vic Green Officially Retires

If it weren't for Jason Taylor, Vic would be the Zips top NFL player ever:Safety Victor Green to retire as a JetApril 4, 2006NEW YORK --Safety Victor Green signed with the New York Jets on Tuesday so he can retire as a member of the team for which he played in 1993-2001.Green entered the NFL as a rookie free agent out of the University of Akron in 1993 and moved into the starting lineup as the Jets' strong safety in 1994. He was selected as a member of the Jets Four Decade Team in 2003.Green played for the New England Patriots in 2002 and the New Orleans Saints in 2003, finishing his career with 1,000 tackles, 725 of which were solo, 25 interceptions for 643 yards and three touchdowns. He also recovered 16 fumbles and forced 12 fumbles.

VGreen is one of the best come from nothing stories you'll ever find. The guy literally went from living in a house with dirt floors with virtually nothing and little in the way of opportunities to attending college and playing in the NFL. His jersey should be retired and somebody should write a book about him.

I haven't heard that name in forever..............  Why is he never mentioned.Bettter ?, who besides J.Taylor and Dwight Smith and Robert Lyons have been in the pros?

Zac never made the roster (Dallas) which always amazed me.He's such a great guy, he must have had an automatic career waiting for him......probably a situation where he said the h ll with pursuing this (NFL) and he just took off into the rest of his life............He was simply automatic..............and really pulled us out of the fire in many games during his career.............
