@GeorgeThomasABJ wants questions

Is AJ Milwee calling all the plays? I think I have seen a steady improvement from the UCF game, and would give credit, but I want to make sure it's correct.

Can you ask coach Bowden to expand on the final play? He mentioned in his coaches show that he thought his receiver got held. What was the play call? How did he think it developed? What could have been done better? He mentioned in his show that the team is dangerous passing it down near the goal line and he thought if he had the extra time and four plays, they would have scored (I agree). If so, why the run play on the second to last play?

Maybe you guys have some more...

Hmmmmm....

Kyle Pohl on the pass to set up the final drive ... "It was another great call. Coach did an awesome job today with play calling; he gave me stuff that he knew I would be comfortable with. The preparation this week was good, and I knew we had it as long he ran a good route and I made a good throw it was going to be a good play and he did it. I threw it right to him and it was perfect."Source: from goblue.com

I know "coach" can mean anybody on the staff, but I would think you call TB "coach", and AJ "coach Milwee?" Still wondering...

I'll pay more attention to the sidelines this week.

After watching the replay, it looked like Bowden was calling and signalling in the plays. Maybe that is why the offense looks better.

He is talking to Milwee in the press box. That's why he wears the headset.

Gee, thanks. I thought he wore it because he is from the south and his ears were cold.

I may be wrong, but I doubt the head coach is signalling in offensive plays. That isnt usually the way it works.

wonder what all the hand motions he does on the sideline is for then.

Milwee was promoted to OC. Seriously doubt TB was going to take that away after 1 or two games.

We all see Terry signaling the plays. ZG is assuming he is calling them as well. If Milwee was calling the plays, Dalton Easton or Tommy Woodson could signal them in, right? Why would Terry signal in plays someone else is calling? I don't know the answer, just asking the question.

I believe Milwee is responsible for the overall offensive game plan. Milwee calls the script and survey's the field from the box, but Terry can and does overrule depending on the defensive set or feel of the game. Terry signaling in the plays allows for quick changes and keeps the offense confident that their HC, with tons of experience, is in charge and guiding them.

This is what I pretty much think. and HC's overriding the coordinators in certain situations isnt uncommon at all.

Exactly. Signalling in the calls is what the backup quarterbacks do. Head coaches, unless they are calling the plays, are typically dealing with higher priorities.
