Dave in Green
College Football Playoff Wiki: Quote Unlike college football's current title system, the Bowl Championship Series, the new format will not use computer rankings or polls in the selection of its 12 participating teams. Rather, a committee of 13 people will select and seed the teams. Check out the committee members listed on Wikipedia and guess how much respect they might have for a MAC team beyond the possibility below. Quote The highest-ranked champion from the so-called "Group of Five" mid-major conferences (American Athletic Conference, Conference USA, MAC, Mountain West, and Sun Belt) is guaranteed a berth if the group's top team is not in the playoff. zippy5
So basically 6 bowls, with 2 being the semis. The top non-AQ team gets an automatic bid, and another non-AQ could theoretically get an at-large, but like DiG said.. yeah right. I'm encouraged by the fact that a mid-major will participate every year. With Louisville leaving the AAC, there is an argument to be made for the MAC being the best of the rest. Dave in Green
So much for Oklahoma State being one of the two best teams in the country. Who would have thought the mighty Cowboys would fall to Oklahoma with the Sooners' starting QB out with an injury. Auburn and Missouri played pretty even in the first half, and we should know in another 90 minutes or so which one of them will fall by the wayside. Then it's on to the late games. LZIp
Auburn's secondary looks pretty terrible. Wide open guys everywhere on the field. Fell asleep during the Ok St-OU game, but if it was Blake Bell that was out, it was probably a blessing in disguise. That dude sucks. He's like a Tim Tebow but 1/3 as good. I like their freshman better.
Dave in Green
Auburn-Mizzou game turning into a MACtion-style shootout. They just keep trading scores without being able to stop each other. Looking like the last team to have the ball in the 4th quarter will win. Dave in Green
Auburn 45, Mizzou 42 after 3 quarters. Total combined offense so far is 1,057 yards.
Dave in Green
I had thought that Mizzou might have a better overall team than Auburn, but Auburn is starting to take control of this game in the 4th quarter (52-42).
Dave in Green
Quite a statement by Auburn -- 545 rushing yards and a 59-42 beatdown of the #5 team in the country. Time for FSU and tOSU to make their cases.
Dave in Green
Uh-oh, tOSU fans. MSU up 17-0.
Dave in Green
FSU taking care of business, up 17-0 at the half. tOSU comes alive and only trails 17-10 at the half.
Dave in Green
tOSU running all over MSU defense to even the score at 17-17. MSU is toast unless they can generate an offense and rediscover their vaunted defense.
zippy5
MSU's running back with some SEC speed on that run.
skip-zip
Note To The Suckeyes: Upgrade your OOC scheduling, and maybe you'd be better prepared when you actually have to play a good team at the end of the season. You got exactly what you asked for, and gave me such an enjoyable night watching football.

johnnyzip84
The 2014 "post-Bowden Bowl" should make for a quality National Championship game. These are the most deserving teams.

Slowhio really got out run, out coached and out toughed by a better msu team. Congratulations to Mark Dantonio for solidifying himself as the top coach in the BT with the best team. Congratulations and a fond farewell to the BCS for once again being right about who should be in the title game.

zippy5
I'm glad we don't have to watch osu in the championship. FSU would have smoked them. Looking forward to FSU and Auburn.
Dave in Green
One thing's for sure -- the more tOSU defenders push back on tOSU doubters, the more delight the doubters will take when tOSU is exposed. I really like the FSU-Auburn matchup. FSU has been consistent all season while dominating a schedule ranked as weak or weaker than tOSU's, while Auburn has been improving week-by-week since their only loss of the season while playing a tougher schedule. Both teams appear to be peaking when it counts, and we can only hope that they both have their best games of the season in producing a memorable national championship game. I'd love to see FSU end SEC dominance, but Auburn has been playing like a team of destiny in recent weeks. I can't wait to see this game. LZIp
FSU will dominate Auburn. FSU has a great defense and great passing game. I watched Auburn's secondary get torched yesterday. FSU by 14+
