ZachTheZip
Are there any high school senior prospects you'd like to see the Zips offer for the upcoming 2014 recruiting class? The Zips coaching staff can't be everywhere, and you hear all the time how some player got overlooked that turns out to be a star at some smaller school, but only held one scholarship offer. Based on HS playoff games watched over the last few days: Any lineman from Moeller Saw a lot of defensive line size that would be great to get so that we don't have to continue to rely on JC transfers. Zipmeister
If we haven't already, we should offer Kyle Allen, Quin Blanding, Leonard Fournette, Marlon Humphrey, Adoree' Jackson, Sony Michel, Joe Mixon, Jabrill Peppers and Cameron Robinson. LZIp
I've paid close attention to this kid in the state championship the past two years. Bayle Wolf from Clinton Massie. He probably doesn't have the speed to play RB at the next level, but the kid is a damn football player. He willed them to a win over St. C last season and Mooney this year. I'm not sure really what position he could play, but I could see him being a nice under the radar find. Had 2000 yds rushing last season (very heavy rushing team, set the record for most points scored in a season in OHSAA history) and 1800 this year. He doesn't appear to have any offers. http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p...amp;nid=7035075
GJGood
I always look for those guys that have taken their teams to a level they have rarely or never been before as well as guys who make all-state lists at schools that aren't traditional powers. That says they are able to overcome what is expected. Those are the types of guys that Akron and the MAC need. I saw some guys that really impressed me this year that don't get a lot of pub. The one QB that impressed me above all others was Ramroth Finnegan of Columbus Whetstone. The best wideout I saw was Robert Jones of Mansfield Senior. The best lineman I saw was clearly 6'4" 310lb. Martesse Patterson of Columbus Marion-Franklin (Akron has already offered). My diamond in the rough would be Thane Hoffman of Division V Richwood North Union. He was only a junior this season but I hope somebody is keeping tabs on him.

blueandgold
One advantage we have is that we are pretty local to the State Championship game venues. I would think that we would have scouts at all of the Championship games for sure. I watched bits of a few games and saw a lot of nice players. I don't remember any names, but DII Loveland had a freshman who ran for 175 yards against Glenville. I would take a look at those lineman for sure. If a freshman can run all over Glenville, they obviously have an outstanding line.
LZIp
No D Hand? First thing that came to my mind as well. Amazing how much alike we think.
Zipmeister
No D Hand? Nope. Two reasons. Verbal to the Tide seems pretty solid. Linage suggests he may be susceptible to knee injuries.

Zipgrad01
What position do you see him playing at a D1 level? You beat me to it. I was wondering the exact same thing.
ZachTheZip
Jack Alpert from Cuyahoga Heights, the same school that gave us Zach D'Orazio, might be worth a look. As a smaller program, talent from CHHS can get overlooked in favor of prospects from the bigger schools in the Cleveland area. I'm trying to think of off-the-radar players within an hour or two from campus.
AKRONSGOTTALENT
What position do you see him playing at a D1 level?Yea, good question. I watched his video , looks like he would be more of a OLB than DE. Good pass rusher. I wonder what D2 teams like about him.
Captain Kangaroo
I love this kid. I can't believe he doesn't have a D1-A offer yet. Great feet, great arm, winner...what else do you need?

zippity doo dah
Trotwood puts out a lot of quality JC ballers. You could grab the OL that wore him out in the regular season game. Jeff Duncan 6'6" 295 Fairmont The school does not get much attention but he has beaten several 3 star players. He has quite a few D2 and D1AA offers.
