Zips are 1 1/2 point favorites. Harney is apparently back, but how much has he practiced?

Mellett used to be a house of horrors, so hopefully there won't be a reprise tonight. Tough game to gauge. This could well set the tone for the rest of the season. A win might get the team back on track for a decent stretch run. A loss will put the 20 wins streak in jeopardy.

I think that Deji will probably get the start tonight over Cheatham based upon his play on Sat. He had a great game on Sat. and hopefully this will continue. Bentacourt and Evans shot 1 of 9 on Sat with 7 of the shots being 3 pointers. They have to do better if we are going to win. I did not think the team quit but they had another awful start scoring only 2 points in the first five minutes and never seemed to recover after going down 12 points. Tree took 5 jump shots to being the game and missed all of them even though they were open looks. Our post players are getting double teamed and having problems passing the ball to the open man.

I like the way Ohio U. had players move without the ball and take 10 foot jump shots off the screens with a catch and shoot. Our players still do not move well without the ball and everything seems to be off the dribble.

If we win this game and get Kretzer back soon we may be able to make a run and get to the tournament.

This may come as a surprise but we aren't going to win many games when Tree and Q have 4 combined points. They're doubling Tree as soon as he touches it.. Hopefully KD adjusts and gets him the ball off a screen, or Tree can start finding the open man quicker. I'm afraid to say anything negative about Q so I just suppose I'll say I hope he has a better second half.

My take on the Miami-Akron games tonight:

From the JAR:

Lady Zips 48

Miami 29

Luburgh with 24 pts at the half. Cassell with 10 assists at the half as well. Lady Zips would be up 25-30 pts if not for their foul trouble.

From Millet Hall:

Zips 20

Miami 27

At least it's good to see Big Dog producing. Surprised when I saw Deji had 6 points. Need some production from the guards. Tree should get more in the 2nd half. Good to see Harney on the floor. Might take a while to get back in the flow.
