Valpo Zip
I am curious to know where does Tree rank in the list of the highest scorers. Is there a data base where we can look up historical statistics?

tpsjugglerdude
I bet he ends up taking over the 6 or 7 spot when all is said and done.
Dave in Green
Tree is almost a lock for an all-time top 10 Zips scorer and possibly top 5. He even has a shot at joining the all-time top 5 Zips in both scoring and rebounding. StatSheet.com shows Tree currently with 663 career rebounds. If he continues at his current rate through the end of next season, he could have 1,000+ career rebounds and even pass the great Len Paul for #5 on the top 10 career rebounding list:1. 1,360 Fred Golding, 1956-59 (97)2. 1,218 Don Williams, 1963-67 (107)3. 1,213 Ray Pryear, 1956-59 (91)4. 1,171 Bill Turner, 1962-67 (106)5. 1,021 Len Paul, 1969-73 (107)6. 996 Frank Thompson, 1962-66 (101)7. 872 Alex Adams, 1953-60 (85)8. 801 Harvey Glover, 1969-73 (102)9. 783 Romeo Travis, 2004-07 (122)10. 777 Jeremiah Wood, 2004-08 (101)
Valpo Zip
Thanks Hilltopper. I agree that Tree seems to be headed to a top 10 spot for his career points. What a pleasure he is to watch.
UAZip0510
Romeo Travis (7th All-Time Zips Scoring) finished his 3rd year with 1,013 points. Treadwell has 1,018 with 1 regular season game left in his third season. Tree is on pace to be the highest scorer of the KD Era.
Dave in Green
Len Paul and Bill Turner are the only 2 players in the all-time career top 5 of both scoring and rebounding. This would be a huge honor for Tree if he can achieve it.
akronzips71
the great Len PaulPoetry in motion.I love Tree. He is no Len Paul. No one is.
skip-zip
It's cool to look at this list. For instance, I would have never guessed that Shawn Roberts and George Phillips were that high on the list. And I thought that Mark Alberts would actually be higher on the list. Dr Z
It's cool to look at this list.I agree. Like most stats, they are skewed by variables. They don't take into account the level of competition that each faced, or offensive, or defensive philosophies. Can you imagine Jimmal (or others) playing in the MAC the last four years, or Tarver (or others) playing in today's offensive philosophy? I would venture to guess the numbers would be a tad different. But it's still always fun to dream. I hope Tree ends up being number one on the list. ZipsBurgh
Speaking of 3rd year, will Tree and Harney be honored at Senior Night tomorrow since they are both listed as seniors even though they almost certainly will be back next year? Dave in Green
@Dr Z, good point about stats. They start off as raw numbers and require interpretation to be more meaningful. It's similar to watching games. We see pretty much the same raw visual images and then have to interpret what we've seen. It's generally in the interpretations where we tend to reach different conclusions based on our different viewpoints.@ZipsBurgh, good question about the seniors. Tree and Nick are considered athletic seniors only by NCAA regulation even though they may qualify for another year of eligibility. If their intention is to return next season and they meet all NCAA academic standards, they technically become fifth year seniors. I believe that they will not be among those honored on this senior night due to the likelihood that they will be fifth year seniors next season. akronzips71
Back when Len Paul played there were no three point shots or dunks.I don't event think there was a shot clock. In todays world he would be an even greater player.
