Dave in Green Posted July 23, 2014 Report Posted July 23, 2014 Is it official that Robinson is off the team? That seems to be what George implied in his blog. This story from two days ago implies that while Robinson is still suspended he's not officially off the team. UA may be waiting for him to have his day in court. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted July 24, 2014 Author Report Posted July 24, 2014 Watch media day here: http://espn.go.com/watchespn/player/_/id/1887641Coach Bowden comes on at about the 20-minute mark. He looks right at home in front of the cameras, especially compared to the rest of the MAC coaches. 1 Quote
Buckzip Posted July 24, 2014 Report Posted July 24, 2014 Well, he was on TV for quite a few years when he left Auburn. Quote
UA1987 Posted July 26, 2014 Report Posted July 26, 2014 3* true freshman Baggett may find himself on the two deep at safety if Robinson is gone Quote
Balsy Posted August 1, 2014 Report Posted August 1, 2014 I love Bowden. Let's go get 'em. 12-0. Go Zips! Quote
Captain Kangaroo Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 Justin March is one well-spoken, classy representative of the football program. It has to be unreal for him to have experienced year's #1 and #2 like he did, and now have a realistic goal to win a MAC Championship. There's a lot of wood to chop between now and the Motor City Bowl, but I like our chances to legitimately compete for a berth. 2 Quote
ZachTheZip Posted August 12, 2014 Author Report Posted August 12, 2014 The MAC does not have a contract with a bowl game in Detroit this season. The MAC champs now play in the GoDaddy bowl in Mobile, while the runner-up gets banished to Idaho to play in the Potato Bowl. After that, it's the Camellia Bowl, Boca Raton Bowl, and finally the Bahamas Bowl. So, if we can't win the MAC, I'm hoping we finish 5th. Quote
Dr Z Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 The MAC does not have a contract with a bowl game in Detroit this season.I'm assuming CK meant the "berth" to the Championship game. Seems like a fun goal this year. Mid-American Conference Championships 2014 ScheduleFriday December 5th Ford Field Quote

I'd like to eventually see the MAC Champion always go to the Bahamas if not taken by one of the premier bowls or playoff. That seems like a great reward for a championship season. I still say the MAC needs one 'destination' bowl the champion is always tied in to. The power conferences have historically had that, why can't the MAC? Quote

The power conferences have historically had that, why can't the MAC?The MAC had a "destination" bowl for many years with the California Bowl in Fresno. The trouble was, unless Fresno State happened to be playing in it, attendance was weak. Don't get me wrong: I like the idea of spending time watching my Zips in an exotic locale. But there just aren't many MAC fans willing to make that kind of trip. Quote
LZIp Posted September 12, 2014 Report Posted September 12, 2014 May be mistaken, but I thought the MAC champion destination bowl has been the GoDaddy bowl? Quote
