Dr Z
PSU beats Akron, and the bowl ban gets lifted. Coincidence? edit: AND all their scholarships back.

johnnyzip84
I watched the coaches show last night and I believe his hair was back to normal. Maybe he was auditioning for the stage production of The Year Without a Santa Claus?

Zips Win!
Or was the PSU ban lifted when the NCAA saw how bad the big ten was last week. And to think PSU fans still have the nerve to say it's the third best conference.
GP1
Or was the PSU ban lifted when the NCAA saw how bad the big ten was last week. The NCAA doesn't move that quickly. My guess is the quality of the league has something to do with it, but that was apparent before last weekend. The decision was probably made long ago, but they didn't want to announce it before the season started when news is slow. After the second or third weekend was probably a good calculation on their part. The got lucky with this Ray Rice issue taking up almost all of the "sports" discussion right now. They didn't want the announcement to be front page news and they got their wish.
GP1
And to think PSU fans still have the nerve to say it's the third best conference.I used to think that the ACC was the worst of the two when compared to the Big Ten. It's still a bad league, but not compared to the Big Ten. Wake is the worst team of all and I thank God for sending a thunder storm Winston-Salem's way Saturday night to give me a reason to leave the game after the first quarter ($700 down the drain on those season tickets and parking passes). A 3:00 lunch at Mozelle's and some tailgating were the only things worth going for. Anyhow, other than Wake's loss to ULM, there are no embarrassing results. NC State struggled but won against GA Southern and Old Dominion. UNC struggled and won against SDSU.
PSU_Lions_84
Hey, guys, lurking here for just a bit longer. A few things:1) I think I was the Penn State fan who said the B1G might be the third best conference. I meant it is certainly no higher than third, and a reasonable case could be made it is lower than that. Again, I'm far from a conference homer, so will not defend the league at all.2) I appreciate you guys not bringing up the Sandusky scandal during the week leading up to our game. Other teams' fans have not been as gracious. That said, if any of you want to discuss it, email me at nomad733@msn.com Just put "Akron fan" or something in the subject line, so I can BOLO for your email. I like to think I'm pretty rational about the whole situation, but feel free to put me to the test.3) GP1, had no idea you'd be at the Wake Forest game. I can see their football stadium from my office -- it would have been great to meet you/any of you guys. My older son is a UNC-Chapel Hill grad, and I worked at Duke U for 4.5 years, so have some ACC affiliation.Rooting for you the rest of the way -- you deserve a great season!! Pound Marshall, and please, please beat Pitt!

Other teams' fans have not been as gracious. The Sandusky affair isn't worth bringing up because it is so far in the past at this point. We had a good debate about it years ago now. I think the NCAA did the right thing by lifting whatever sanction they did. It was a criminal affair, not one for the NCAA to get involved.3) GP1, had no idea you'd be at the Wake Forest game. We park as close to the tree line as possible so there is plenty of shade as the day progresses. White Honda Crosstour, blue cooler in the hatchback, Bose wireless speaker playing music off of IPhone. We get there about two hours before game time if not sooner.
