fknbuflobo
As always, pass along all FREE streams. It is a tall order for Zips to get out of Wake Forest with any result whatsoever. I would be happy with a draw. But we have beaten them before on their turf in 2010.Need to clean up ball management from our CBs and GK. 30% of all goals worldwide are from defensive turnovers. No mistakes!BTW, Demon Deacons have awsome unis!
Staton14
Tough match. I'll predict a 1-1 draw but could see a 2-1 lose just as easily.
MDZip
But not an impossible challenge, they are nowhere near as imposing as they were a few years ago. 4-4 with losses to UCLA and Cal (both in Winston-Salem) and Va Tech and Clemson. And how do they get 13 home games and only 5 away? Zips lead the all time series 3-2-1.

bigzipguy
They are still mad about their last loss to the Zips.
UAZipster0305
Judging by the gametracker, we are getting dominated. Down 2-0 and WF has had a ton of shots and corners. The only notes for us are substitutions, offsides, fouls, and saves. No shots or corners to speak of. The Jekyll-Hyde home-away character of our team is disconcerting. UAZipster0305
Meanwhile Coastal Carolina is up 1-0 at NC State.I never thought I'd see the day when the football team dominates an ACC opponent on the road while the futbol team gets dominated.

TennZip
from wake forest twitterSome halftime stats: Wake Forest leads in shots (9-2) and corner kicks (6-0). Ferrell has made two saves. they did say that Akron has been much more aggressive in first 10 minutes of 2nd half
Staton14
Akron penalty saved by the Wake keeper. Still 2-1 Wake. 20 minutes left.

malonepioneer12
Why wouldn't Najem take the penalty kick?
bigzipguy
Difficult loss. Giving up that second goal in the first half, so close after giving up the first was tough. PK's are,as we know, never an automatic goal. Shake it off and get ready for Sat.

Zip_ME87
If you guys haven't figured out by now that this is a young team that is, unfortunately going to be inconsistent, you're going to pop a blood vessel before this season is over. Chill out and get ready for Saturday.Go Zips!
TennZip
UAB is ranked 21 this week....so zips have a chance to gain some ground back.Ohio State leads Louisville 1-0 at 62 minute markJames Madison (4-3-2) leads Virginia 1-0 at 87 minute mark...Virginia just tied it with a goal at 88:28VCU is 3-5-1 and is tied 0-0 at #1 Notre Dame at 66 minute mark no dominant teams this year...If Akron can keep improving, they can still make some noise in the NCAA tourneygood to see them make adjustments in 2nd half tonightPenn State is ranked #4. Michigan State is highly ranked...Zips have a lot to gain in those games
Zip_ME87
After going down 0-2 in the first half, the Zips got themselves back into the game in the 2nd half with a good chance to tie it. PK's, unfortunately, are not "give me" goals. I'd have love to have won or at least tied, but I'm happy to see the response of this young team to adversity on the road.Let's Go Zips! UAZipster0305
The offsides stat could be quite telling. ..plenty of those for us. That is either because guys are being lazy or the timing of runs is a half step off. The latter is the mark of a team that has not fully gelled yet. I hope that is the case.Too bad the penalty was not converted. It would have been great to salvage a tie from this trip. Let's get UAB on Saturday! Onwards and upwards, Zips! SwitchIt
Zips did well to adjust and gain the momentum early in second but Wake felt better throughout. Very uncharacteristic 3 subs at 23' shows how unhappy staff must have been with the play early. Good to see they responded well to whatever was said in locker room, but then Wake unleashed blizzard of 12 fouls in second half to slow things down.As noted Wake is also exceptionally young, tops in nation's better programs w freshmen along w Akron at 12 players. They feel further along the path to getting past that, although their coaches might have thought differently the other night in 3-1 loss at Clemson. Both programs some great young talent. Bakero probably worth keeping an eye on.Does anyone know background on their keeper, Alec Ferrell? Played at Internationals, coached by Embick, 6-4 190 and was pretty dominant back there tonight. Announcers called him the man of the match. He would have been a shoe in behind Meves who was a similar mold. Wake bio says he was RS in 2012, started last year. Doesn't make much sense he would leave such fertile ground.

Perhaps Ferrell didn't want to chance that competition? Pina came in highly rated.I think Jake has been doing a good job. Just needed 1 more save tonight. He had the PK save and a number of others at blOSU, and I felt he was MotM in that one.
