Dave in Green Posted November 16, 2014 Report Posted November 16, 2014 UA made a rare Sunday news release. Quote
UAZip0510 Posted November 16, 2014 Report Posted November 16, 2014 Obviously not good. Time for some of these young guys to step in and step in...and hopefully Big Dog's healing up fast. Quote
zippy5 Posted November 16, 2014 Author Report Posted November 16, 2014 George actually reported something and that was the suspension came from the UA athletic dept and then was referred to dept of student conduct. So wasn't grades if it didn't come from the school.. Quote
zippy5 Posted November 16, 2014 Author Report Posted November 16, 2014 Why does this crap happen every single year Quote
LZIp Posted November 16, 2014 Report Posted November 16, 2014 Same story, different year. Go zips. Quote

K92 Posted November 16, 2014 Report Posted November 16, 2014 We're one of the few schools that hold our student athletes to very strict standards. I've always thought of UA as the BYU of the east. 3 Quote
UAZip0510 Posted November 16, 2014 Report Posted November 16, 2014 I've always thought of UA as the BYU of the east.Yep. Diggs and Harney would have never missed time most other places. It's great because you want high standards but it sucks when it hijacks a season in November. Quote

zippy5 Posted November 17, 2014 Author Report Posted November 17, 2014 We're one of the few schools that hold our student athletes to very strict standards. So this happens everywhere then, we're the only ones to punish our players? Quote
skip-zip Posted November 17, 2014 Report Posted November 17, 2014 I have a scary thought...Remember last year when he had an issue, and it looked like he was going to just quit the team? Lets hope this doesn't go that far. And for what it's worth, I don't mind having the reputation as the school who is tough regarding student/athlete behavior. It is something to be proud of, even if the results suck sometimes. We'll rally behind the guys we've got, who know how to behave themselves, like we always do. 3 Quote

LZIp Posted November 17, 2014 Report Posted November 17, 2014 We discipline players far more than the majority of universities, yes.I agree that we are more strict than other universities with handling misconduct (which I am happy about), but that doesn't excuse anything these players do."Wrong is wrong even if everyone is doing it. Right is right even if nobody is doing it."When will these guys learn and quit throwing opportunities away? Quote
Balsy Posted November 17, 2014 Report Posted November 17, 2014 This team is now super-young. SR - Ibitayo, EvansJR - Kretzer, McAdams, ForsytheSO - Cheatham, JohnsonFR - Robotham, Jackson, Jackson, GladdenI think this will be a good season to utilize the "cupcake" schedule that we have. I know we were all not happy about the cupcake schedule we have this year, but perhaps it's the best thing. Most of the games will give this young team the opportunity to learn how to play with each, while being against relatively easy competition. I like the youth of this team a lot. Quote
