MDZip
Now that the season is over (and with the decision by the Zips not to participate in a post season tournament probably not easily arrived at since that is one of the things the Zips like to tout, how often they have participated in the postseason under Dambrot), for a little fun, Hustlebelt presented each teams all time team to see how they would stack up against each other. I think CMU has the best overall, with BGSU and Miami being pretty close too, but I disagree with two of the Zips choices: G: Steve McNees (2008-11)G: Joe Jakubick (1980-84)F: Derrick Tarver (2002-04)F: Romeo Travis (2004-07)C: Zeke Marshall (2010-13)I would substitute Eric McLaughlin for McNees and Len Paul for Derrick Tarver and I think the Zips might have a shot. And by the way, with the success of the Bulls this year, Hustlebelt reported that Bobby Hurley's name is potentially being discussed as a good fit for DePaul. Another reason to be happy KD stays put.
Hilltopper
I think Nate Linhart is a better choice than Tarver.
Blue & Gold
I'd go with Jimmal Ball over Steve McNees.
skip-zip
I'd go with Jimmal Ball over Steve McNees. Absolutely. And I love Steve. But, I'd also take The Cricket over either of them, like MDZip suggests. Tarver might be hard to overlook for his scoring, but I can see an argument for someone like Linhart or Wood for their total 4-year contributions, and more multi-dimensional games. The Hip Zip
I must be going senile because I seem to remember Tarver as being a 2 guard. I'm also thinking that J Wood deserves a spot on that list. And no Bryan Hipsher? C'mon now, this list is totally bogus,.
skip-zip
I must be going senile because I seem to remember Tarver as being a 2 guard. And Jakubick as a wing/forward. I think those two needed to be switched.
skip-zip
Concerning Jakubick.......For any of you delusional "Akron doesn't compete with the Suckeyes" theorists, I was recently reading a cool "Forgotten Legends" article about him, and interestingly found out that he was heavily recruited by OSWho and Wisconsin, and CHOSE to go to Akron.http://collegehoopsnet.com/jon-teitels-forgotten-legends-series-akron-great-joe-jakubick-169259#TeamOhio
akronzips71
Any all Zips team that does not include Len Paul must have been written by a young fella.Anyone who ever saw him play will never forget it.And speaking of forgetting, we had a few other pretty good players named Turner and Williams, if anyone cares to look it up.Oh yeah, Turner was our ONLY Pro? The Hip Zip
Some of these selections are so bad.... Sorry Mr George Gervin, Alex Alvarado says you just didn't make the cut at EMU.

skip-zip
This is for MAC Tourneys. Not sure how many those guys played in..Well, if that's the case, that would eliminate Jakubick (who they put on the list) and McLaughlin. They were both from the OVC era. And for the record, McLaughlin played in an NCAA tournament game (1986 vs. Michigan).

They definitely made some errors
Blue & Gold
Limiting it to the Top 5 makes it awfully exclusive. But I just wanna drop the name... Tron Jenkins!!! (My very first "favorite" Zip.)
