zippy_ua_00
I already told you who the starting qb will be. Pohl will start oklahoma game Then Chapman will be the rest of the way. They don't want Chapman to get hurt in the OU game or lose his confidence.

UA1987
Doesn't sound like we will know who the starting QB will be until game time. http://www.bing.com/news/apiclick.aspx?ref=BDIGeneric&aid=C98EA5B0842DBB9405BBF071E1DA7651077B1B5B&tid=CC27F912114E4C1494F586333570287D&url=http%3a%2f%2fwww.ohio.com%2fsports%2fzips%2funiversity-of-akron-football-intelligence-helping-zips-dylan-evans-pass-test-on-field-1.619581&c=OIZtBTz_ZHj6Tr1h-uqYMnf7YfotiOxONarjnPn2ieM&mkt=en-usDylan Evans (focus of this article) is exactly the kind a athlete I'd go after in recruiting. He's smart, a team player, patient, and is now ready to enjoy a big year with the Zips. Watch him have a monster year as a Senior. Come to think of it, I could be describing Kyle Pohl in this same way.

They don't want Chapman to get hurt in the OU game or lose his confidence. That's a shame. That's a loser's attitude. When you have a shot for a statement win, you need to give yourself the best chance to do just that.Reminds me of when JD Brookhart's Zips played OSU. The defense played the best game in Zips history, but the offense was so vanilla that we had no shot because JD didn't want to show his hand for games down the road. He admitted that he intentionally held the offense back because he figured the team had no chance.

Maybe they should do some research on our defensive personnel this year before they make such silly predictions. It reminds me a lot of the Pitt, penn state and Michigan boards. All three of them were quite surprised with the talent and speed of our defense. I think you guys will be as well.

Which is fine, but they are in for a rude awakening. Most believe they will cover the spread easily. I predicted a 31-17 loss by the zips. They laughed at me. I don't mind going in under the radar. It's not much of a surprise. I read what they had to say over there because they quoted me as a crazy nut. I'll take it though, because it'll be fun reading the comments as the Sooners struggle against a very talented Chuck Amato defense. I remember the Michigan fans being equally arrogant, coming off an 8-5 season that finsihed much like the Sooners' did last year. They will have Baker Mayfield starting at QB, who had pretty impressive stats in 2013 but sat out 2014 because of tranfering from Texas Tech to Oklahoma. I could be wrong, but I find it hard to believe that a transfer QB, who sat out last year, in the first game of the season, is going to light our defense on fire. Statistically they win this game...but I full heartededly believe it won't be an easy cakewalk. If Pohl doesn't turn the ball over in the redzone like he's prone to doing...we will make it a game. Bet on that.

Bet on that.Their predictions were insulting and ignorant (80-5). We may have trouble scoring, but our defense will be tougher to handle than they predict. I hope it is as quiet in Norman at half time as it was in Happy Valley.TB has yet to get blown out by a power 5 team since coming to Akron. I don't expect it to start now. We're not getting blown out, that's a lock.
pphilfran
I am not yet sold on the Sooner offense. Better find a qb. A revamped o line will probably show some growing pains. Last year the receiving corp was a one trick pony, Sheppard). I actually think they will much improved if they can find a qb. With Perine and Mixon the running backs are going to deal some punishment to you d line.New o coord Licoln Riley (East Carolina) will bring changes. Defense should be much improved. If Mayfield is solid it will be a long day for the Zips. Qb play similar to last year and you can make a good showing. Win the turnoved battle and it could be real interesting.Good luck.Any of ya coming down for the game?

I love the Zips but I'm spending Floyd/Manny PPV kind of money for 1 game.See all you guys for the Pitt game, make sure to come see Zac Kas, Jake Anderson and my self in the parking lot for a beer and a burger.-Daniel Marcoux
