Dr Z
I was wondering what others thought of one of the Zips new formations (backfield w/ 2 RB, TE, QB)?
LoyalZIP
I'm excited to see what this offense can do against teams that aren't half as good as Oklahoma. Also, did anyone else see the play on first and goal that had the false start called on Akron? Cody Grice was going to receive the direct snap, but someone jumped. Yeah, you read that correctly. This new offense will surely be like nothing anyone has ever seen, and that could be a huge advantage going forward.
zipsoutsider
Cody Grice was going to receive the direct snap, but someone jumped.I was extremely pleased to see this. I love the idea of using him from the 5 and a direct snap - awesome! I also loved the pass to Williams. Effectively using a TE and/or FB can really help our passing game. I thought Virginia Tech utilized their FB very well last night in the first half. Looking forward to more from Grice and Williams on offense. Dr Z
Here are four pre snap alignments of successful plays last Saturday night. Woodson runs off tackle for a 38 yard gain. Watch here.Woodson pass, to Wolf for 41 yards. Watch here.Woodson beats a blitz (and takes a hit as he throws) asJerome Lane beats his man one on one and takes it to the house. Watch here.Hundley run for 11 yds for a TD. Watch here.
LZIp
Re: Woodson's long run. If Pratt held his block a little longer, thats a TD.Wolf is only a soph. Hopefully he can continue to develop. He makes some nice catches.Watching Lane give his guy that swim move and get off the line with that much ease makes me giddy. We all know he's a great athlete, but it looks like he is really learning the position.Hundley's run was just a man's run. Thats why Im such a big fan. Not exceptionally gifted in terms of talent, but heart and work ethic second to none.
ZippyRulz
I would expect a few new wrinkles in this first "must-win" MAC East game.

Dr Z
I was wondering what others thought of one of the Zips new formations (backfield w/ 2 RB, TE, QB)?Seems like the Zips are still going to use this formation once in a while with TW13.1st and 10 at OHIO 30 Imani Davis run to the right for 9 yds to the Ohio 21 out of this formation Saturday. I think it was the first time I would call it a success.
