Great win! I thought this would be the game that conceding shortly after we score would bite us in the ass, but this team has something special. They just know how to win. On to Stanfod/Wake at KC!

According to the bracket, we'll take the winner of Wake/Stanford.

Lots of fun to watch that ending, even though I had to mute my tablet because the audio was about 5-7 sec ahead of the video.

I thought coming in that today's winner (Akron or Creighton) would be the favorite. Hope I was right!!

I think if Wake beats Stanford they will be the favorite. But the Zips certainly have a very good chance. And nice to get a little revenge on Creighton.

Congrats Zips! Stupid question, where will the Cup be played?

Sporting Park, Kansas City! IOW, we can fly back with the Bluejays. Though it was a bit chippy on the ground!

Best thing may be that the next (two) game(s) will be on ESPN, so no more of that AWFUL video company! Well, I DID see four of the five goals... Once the picture returned after Creighton's first goal, the only problem was the audio preceding the picture by 20 seconds. Oh well!

Ha ha ha. When did we sign George Hamilton?

Dude you are definitely old enough to remember it was George Harrison that played for the Beatles not an old B list movie actor known more for his tan. :-)

I am so happy for Coach Jared Embick, his coaching staff and this amazing, gutty, heart filled group of student athletes.

Absolutely great soccer game. Fabian Herbers and Timo Pitters were as good as advertised but this Akron team has unbelievable character and belief in each other.

I read many writeups before the game that the legendary college coach Elmer Bolowich was going to be the difference in the game. Coach Embick and his staff obviously made any great adjustments at halftime and Akron had much better possessions and chances in the 2nd half and in the OT's. Tremendous credit to our talented coaching staff.

In the business world, there is a phrase that great leaders expect great results. I am not close enough to the team to know who the true leaders are....but I will share some history. Victor Souto has been saying since Brazil that this team would bring a 2nd star back to Akron. Victor Souto is a great soccer player and is a true warrior. Victor Souto is a great student athlete. I am very happy for Victor Souto and all of the soccer zip family that this team is achieving great results
