Dr Z Posted September 20, 2016 Author Report Posted September 20, 2016 Dak Prescott, 75 passing attempts, no interceptions (NFL rookie record). Carson Wentz, 71 passing attempts, no interceptions. Dolphins fan Cody Kessler gets to start this week...against the Dolphins. Quote
Dr Z Posted September 26, 2016 Author Report Posted September 26, 2016 Source: PFF Quarterback grade: Cody Kessler, 65.6 Kessler conservative, unremarkable but might be just what the Browns need While the Browns would substitute Terrelle Pryor in on several drives, Kessler wound up taking 36 dropbacks for a franchise reeling from the loss of its primary and secondary options. Kessler completed 16-of-20 aimed passes under 10 yards and, surprisingly, completed five-of-seven beyond 10 yards. The rookie quarterback from USC would top all quarterbacks from the 1 p.m. games with an adjusted completion percentage of 81.8 percent. With Josh McCown unlikely to play in Week 4 at Washington, Kessler could begin to solidify his job leading the Cleveland offense with another solid showing. QB Carson Wentz, 79.7 Quarterback grade: Dak Prescott, 82.1 Prescott refuses to play like a rookie Rookie Dak Prescott had another solid outing this week Quote
ZachTheZip Posted September 26, 2016 Report Posted September 26, 2016 Kessler wasn't completely terrible, and he didn't get killed, so that's an upgrade over the last five or so Browns QBs. Quote

I think it was more of a product of the coaches putting him in the right situations to succeed more than it was Kessler himself. Refreshing to see on both accounts however. Makes me think there is something there to work with Kessler and there is a competent coaching staff in place. Quote
Dr Z Posted September 28, 2016 Author Report Posted September 28, 2016 Top-graded QBs this season: 1. Carson Wentz, 90.5 2. Andrew Luck, 87.3 3. Sam Bradford, 86.1 4. Dak Prescott, 86.0 5. Matt Stafford, 85.7 source: @pff Quote
Dr Z Posted October 10, 2016 Author Report Posted October 10, 2016 PFF grades for yesterday. Quarterback grade: Dak Prescott, 86.7 Prescott executing measured offense to perfection Relying on the running game and half-field reads shouldn’t detract from Dak Presctott’s outstanding performances this season. He was superb against the Bengals, missing just two throws (discounting drops and passes thrown away). Tony Romo will have a difficult task reclaiming his starting spot with Prescott in this kind of form. Although the majority of his targets were close to the line of scrimmage, the Cowboys’ prodigy still completed six of eight passes beyond 10 yards for 111 total passing yards. The Prescott selection looks inspired at this stage. Wentz shows poise, but comes up short Quarterback grade: Carson Wentz, 79.7 The most remarkable thing about Wentz is despite his experience, you’d never think him a rookie based purely on the throws and decisions he makes. That’s not to say he’s perfect — and while his late heave was an unnecessary gamble with the team needing just a field goal, he did have throw two other balls that could have been picked off. But the poise he continues to show is reminiscent of far more experienced quarterbacks as he has the wits to buy time without being overly panicked into trying to use his impressive wheels. Quarterback grade: Cody Kessler, 57.1 Kessler’s day was cut short, and while he was reasonably effective as a passer, his afternoon will be marred by the bizarre decision to attempt a backward pass to Duke Johnson which resulted in a safety. Quarterback grade: Paxton Lynch, 38.3 It was a rough game all-around for the rookie QB, who finished the day with a 38.1 passing grade while also coughing up a couple of fumbles. Lynch especially had his struggles when he was put under pressure. On 17 pressured dropbacks, Lynch was able to manage just six pass attempts, and he completed three of them for 40 yards and an interception go with a 31.9 QB Rating. Lynch found most of his success today when he was throwing quick passes in the short-to-intermediate range. When Lynch got the ball out of his hands in 2.5 seconds or less he completed 16 of 20 passes with a 112.3 QB rating, but when he held onto the ball for 2.6 seconds or more he was just 7-of-14 with a 39.0 QB rating. Dr Z Posted October 13, 2017 Author Report Posted October 13, 2017 Not the first game that Wentz has impressed me, but he looked great last night. A LOT of scouts were wrong about this kid. Wentz Makes Eagles Real Quote

Dr Z Posted August 14, 2018 Author Report Posted August 14, 2018 A fan in Colorado set up a GoFundMe page to raise money to help the team release Paxton Lynch. He has appeared in five games while going just 1-3 as a starter, producing a 76.7 quarterback rating. He has four career touchdowns to go with four interceptions. Seems as though he will having a tough time making an impact in this league. Goff and Wentz ranked in the top five in scoring drive efficiency last season: Quote
