they just don't show Victor in the article because they only list players who were selected All-MAC.   The biased MAC coaches did not select Victor as one of the best 22 players in the conference.  Can you say travesty?  joke? laughable?   I think top drawer listed Victor as the 20th best player in the country.   ZipsNation is certainly glad to have Victor on our team.  Great student athlete.......and I hope that a 2nd star is in the future for Victor and Akron soccer.

Why is this not on GoZips.Com?

My guess would be that someone in the Men's Soccer Office posted the twitter message, and that our significantly less than lame SID hasn't found time to post something to GoZips.com.

Disappointing that the Zips couldn't find the net themselves in the first match. I thought they had a couple of good chances, but didn't capitalize. The own goal was a long fluke. I thought Elliott Rubio played well in goal (all 90 minutes in goal) but don't recall his really being tested.

Notre Dame College has a top tier lower division men's soccer team. They scored early, and I thought the rout might be on like last Spring. Our second team rose to the challenge and kept it close. I was especially interested to see our new GK Jeremy Pollard who was in goal for the 2nd half of the match. Jeremy had a couple of outstanding saves that I recall. I liked what I saw. We'll see how he pans out throughout Spring. I think Fall will have an interesting 3-way competition between Elliott, Jeremy, and Tor Saunders. I should also say that Jackson Crawford looked impressive in mid field. He knew where to be, where to go, made good passes, made good decisions.

the zips actual sports web site....actually has an article on the next 2 spring games....alas, they don't even mention that the games were originally scheduled for Saturday night in Akron.     I will be kind and say that I have seen much better sports info directors than the SID for Akron mens soccer.   I guess he must think that all Akron soccer games religiously check the zips soccer twitter account?

I don't know why it wasn't mentioned in the GoZips.com article, but every bit as important as the scoring was GK Nick Costa's save of a Slippery Rock PK attempt in the second half which contributed to 2 clean sheets on the day. Great job Zips!

I stopped by for the 2nd half of the Wright St. game and Andrew Sounders was playing up in the midfield.  Anyone have any insights on why he was playing?  Just to help out with depth playing 2 games on a toasty spring day?  Was wondering if he may become a graduate assistant in the fall since he chose to pursue his graduate degree rather than a soccer career.
