You're about a decade off there skip, John played from 2003-2007, was a big part of that 2005 MAC Championship team.  But I agree, great player who didn't really fit a traditional position, but he was fun to watch at that Rover spot in the 3-3-5.

Yes, I surely was a decade off.  I meant to say "mid-00's" and not "mid-90's"

Yes, I agree.  That Rover spot in the 3-3-5 was ideal for a guy who would have otherwise just been a Small Linebacker.  John excelled in that role.

I have seen JB show up in comments regarding the Packers in a couple of places. So I'm assuming they must have at least set up some meeting with him?

SteelersWire shows that Brown was 1 of 2 LBs to visit the Steelers facilities and gave him nabbed as ab4th rounder for the Black & Gold. It indicates that the Steelers view personality fit as more important than combines or pro days and sees those events as, "icing on the cake" per Kevin Colbert, Steelers GM. Brown could do worse than the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Personally I'd love to see Jatavis join Justin March with the Chiefs. If that came to fruition I may just have a true favorite NFL team for the first time in a while.

Isn't Pughsly still with the chiefs as well?  That'd make it three Zips on the same team.

The Steelers do love to draft MAC players.

Mike Maycock says Round 3 to the Texans.  http://thekicker.com/mike-mayock-all-i-know-for-sure-is-jatavis-brown-will-go-85th/.

I have changed my prediction to the Browns in round 3.  I have a feeling that the analytics have to favor him where other people are knocking him for not being 3 inches taller or 25 pounds heavier.

I like that the picture they chose was one of him taking down an Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield.

That's one of the oddest predictions I have seen this year. Guy studied all year and got 16 percent of the first round right...and people still read every "mock" draft like it's fact. If he gets this one pick right, I'll listen...a little.

omg, Braxton Miller. Shameful how many buckeyes are falling down to the 3rd round :P

I know.  I'm laughing too.   And where's "We Ain't Come To Play School" Cardell?    I think it would be so funny and appropriate if Jatavis gets picked before OSWho's big "hero".

But I still don't understand Miller going that high.  What do you do with him?  Try him out at receiver and cut him?  Just like Pryor?

Isn't this a Jatavis Brown thread? You really have issues.

Yes, I do have issues with STUDENT/athletes who act like idiots and make a mockery out of the college athletics, and the fans who still worship them like they are some kind of diety.

Read more carefully and you will see that I was responding to another post, and it was MY post that referenced Jatavis.

Like always, there's plenty of other places to air your comments if you don't like people such as myself, ZippyRulz, the two others who liked my post, or anyone else on this board who laughs at something related to a competitor of the Zips.

Well, the Browns just took an OLB from Wisconsin, so I guess that takes care of the projection I saw that had Jatavis going at #99 to the Browns.

By the middle of Round 4, I am now seeing 11 OLBs that have already been picked, including a guy named Frackell from Utah State who was chosen in Round 3.  Does anyone remember this guy from the bowl game against them??

I do. He's a good player. I don't think he's as good as Brown. The problem with Jatavis is that in spite of his outstanding ability and speed, he's undersized for the NFL. I would draft him as a strong safety.

I see him as a Troy P type of safety. He may need a type of redshirt year to learn the position but he is a natural football player.

He's going to get picked up by someone, the question is who at this point.  I really thought the Browns would take him late 4th, based upon how they've been drafting...drafting players who have had to overcome adversity and have a chip on their shoulder.  Brown I think fits that bill perfectly, helping turn around the Zips.
