You grew up in the Akron area and hate your parents for moving there, but have no better options. I never quite understood this point of view by out of staters. People typically regurgitate a popular opinion is so that should not suprise me. I moved to Akron a few years ago after being in the Marines. Lived in coastal NC and Florida but I found I like the Akron area more than those places (gasp!). I admit Im an outdoorsy type and I found having a national park within 15 minutes, state park 5 minutes away and about 10000 acres of wooded city parks a pleasant surprise. Getting a UA degree and a good job here was a plus too. Go Zips! Edited September 10, 2016 by WD UA 2015

So if Houston throws 2 first half INTs you're saying that coach will put in a RS Freshman who will just hand off the ball? Zipgrad1990
I didn't watch the Wisc. LSU game or any highlights so my projection is just off the Zips performance. Akron racked up lots of offense but mainly due to big plays which is a concern since I think UW will shut down the big plays for the most part. The Zips need to control the ball more on offense, so the Zips O-line will be a big key to the game. The Zips defense is also a cause for concern after last week;s performance. My pick is UW 31 Akron 13, but at half time it will be only 14-6 due to UW, thinking it is a bye week playing Akron after beating LSU last week. I didn't even think of going to the VMI boards last week to see if any of their fans thought they would win or to post on their fan board (assuming they have one), as I wouldn't care. I am surprised any UW fans care enough to stop by here. Thanks for stopping by and making it entertaining though. Hopefully the game will be exciting to watch and not just a blow out. I don't think I have ever seen a team jump from not ranked to number 10 in one week. A close win for UW will drop UW down to where I thought they would be after going un-ranked to ranked (15 or so). Of course a UW loss would probably take them back out of the polls since Akron is such a weak team (according to all the UW fans). I think it would take a big blow out for UW to move up in the polls though. If they just cover the spread they may stay at 10 or move up or down slightly depending on what other teams do. Preseason polls are ridiculous. Week 1 polls only slightly less so. I don't think any Badger fans think the #10 ranking means anything at this point. With @MSU, @Mich, @Iowa, OSU, and Nebraska coming up it's not very likely to stick, either. Win the West and roll the dice in the conference championship game is a reasonable goal for the season. UAZippers
I'll throw my opinion into the ring here. I think Wisconsin is going to win by multiple touchdowns. My guess is that UW takes an early lead and never gives it up. I do not think it will be a blowout, but UW will never really feel scared that they might lose. The Zips are just too inexperienced to keep up with an upper level P5 team at this point in the season. Score: 38-

I'm not quite at 50 posts yet, but I am tingling with anticipation to reaching the "Zip Fan" threshold. No one has yet confirmed that this appellation kicks in at 50 posts, but never mind, I'll post and post until I reach that lofty goal. I'm not sure why you put daughter in scare quotes; are you suggesting that I don't actually have a daughter or are you suggesting that she may not actually be my daughter? If it's the latter, please let me know before kickoff as that gives me the perfect rationale to skip the soccer game and watch my Badgers destroy the Zips live. Don't be an idiot. Use your quality University of Wisconsin education. It is clearly implied by the context that he meant, and was suggesting, that you don't actually have a daughter. 2 hours ago, Los Venerables said: If it's the latter, please let me know before kickoff as that gives me the perfect rationale to skip the soccer game and watch my Badgers destroy the Zips live. Which would be quite irrational, and pathetic. If you had a daughter's soccer game to go to in the first place. Seriously bro, find something better to do than to post on a lowly MAC opponent's board at 12 am...1am...2am...3am, just makes you look sad and lonely. If being a "Zips Fan" is so important to you, maybe we can invite you into our small, but fiercely loyal Zips family. Then you won't be such a sad, lonely internet troll anymore!
